>yfw water temperature varies
I remember being at the sea once, a beautiful beach with no tourists, really nice.
The beach was at the end of a very beautiful avenue of a really huge mansion/small castle in eastern germany.
Some rich dude lived there, but the beach was still open to the public as most germans prefer artificially cleaned sand at the beach, so there weren't really any people. And as I already said, it was at the end of a long ass avenue aside from where most people hang around.
So, we went out for a swim, it was really lovely, sun going down, nice water temps, you can go into the waters quite a bit while there's still floor beneath your feet.
So I swim out (feet not touching the ground), swim etc. Of course I've got towels/my stuff at the beach, so I know at what height of the beach I was at. That means I swam back the same way I swam out.
However, suddenly, I swim against something extremely massive with my lower body, something that felt like really massive stone, I quickly made out that it was like a huge block of stone (something like a rock, not ayy lmaoing on purpose now btw). I did not see anything before when I swam out, I did not expect to be touching stuff I cannot see and all of the sudden... I get scared like fucking hell.

I'm an real asshole that doesn't afraid of anything, really.
But that literally made me cry out like a little girl. I was so immensely scared, I cannot remember a moment in my life where I was panicing more quickly and intense as that one (well I don't panic all the time, but I guess you catch my point: I was scared to death)
So now the part that still puzzles me until today and I swear to me mom, it's true, I lie on the Internet, but not on this one:
I decide to swim back around it, nothing in my way now, I swim back to the beach as fast as I possibly could. Of course the people I was with noticed what happened and therefore decide to look what was scaring me.
And it was nothing. There was nothing left. I went into the water again and the thing I swam against was just gone. Literally, it was gone. I have no idea what it was (massive fish?!?), but it was there.
Since then, I am scared of lakes from which I know that they are very deep or at the beach when the floor becomes not visible anymore. Not panicing and I'm not pussying out, but I'm avoiding these situations now.
Even if my story was fucking shit and you didn't enjoy reading it, I somehow had to write that out once.
>>677782985
i know the feel when you are out there and suddenly get scared and i hate it. it often happens to me when I was going for a swimm. There is a lake near where i live in the middle of the forest (pic related). I used to go swimm there but it is nearly impossible now cause my fear grew and grew trough the years...
>>677781861
>>677780897
Why is this creepy?
>>677782985
>>677783233
Since this experience I had, I "suffer" from this phobia a bit, which is funny, because usually phobias get removed and not induced using shocktherapy.
>>677783402
It's the worst feeling ever. It's been maybe 15 years since this happened, but I still haven't forgot. I guess I'll never will, it just isn't logical what happened (at least in my brain). A massive piece of ScaryMassiveThingYouCannotSee just disappears from a beach where nobody goes swimming. I can't forget that.
Who has the webm/gif of the diver diving into the seemingly endless atoll?
>>677783402
Dude same shit happened to me I refuse to go to pools I'm like pools are fucking shit don't want to go stuff like that .I stil go to the river but I can barley do that
>>677783740
No professional anywhere recommends shock therapy for phobia... literally no one. Even Dr Phil is too qualified for that shit.
>>677780541
I made pee, just a lil. Hold me, eeeeeeeeeee!
>>677783918
damn mate. I just remembered that once i was at the lake with some buds, grilling and chilling. then when it got dark we were really drunk. some girl suggested to go swimm. So I didn't think mutch (damn alcohol). So we ended up in that lake in pure darkness in the middle of the woods. At this moment it was damn funny, but now when i think back it still give me the chills
>>677784174

>>677780897
Ba-doom~~ ba-doom~~!
>>677783904
>>677784008
Okay, maybe you are right. That thought of mine was wrong, I somehow mixed that up with this therapy where they slowly expose you to the fears more and more until the fear is finally gone.
Also I just realized that I maybe touched the Cthulhu legend thing, kek
>>677784174
My phobia stemmed from these things
1: this dinosaur portal time stuff show had a portal in a pool and a dude was swimming by himself then huge cunt of a thing came up and ate the shit out of him ,
2: I was playing sea animals in a pool with sister, I picked killer whale and splashed around then it got really dark and my sister hopped out and I felt so vulnerable like a huge creature that I can't see will drown me ,btw I have huge fear of orcas I can't handle seeing them swim through darkish water on TV .
>>677781633
Holy shit, are those dead whales?
>>677784541
the thing with the orcas is really interessting. I have the same thing: a giant whale scares me way more than a shark, even though the shark is more dangerous i think... actually really stupid

Impressive that I'm not the only one, really.
Feels good to read these posts.
But I love Orcas, I love what they look like. They look so cute and then, bam, they suddenly throw seals around like they are tennis balls. All just for fun.
I think that's funny.
Orcas are like the /b/ of the sea: Dicks for no apparent reason.
Also I like posting this pic in Linux threads on /g/ from time to time.
>>677785223
They actually torture there food for fun . Orcas the sociopaths of the sea
>>677785223
haha actually yes
>>677785223
I usaly am not scared of the deep but i once got to swim in the winter in northen françe and saw the algues in pic related. Im my case they blinked yellow/green all over the place when the water made contact with something.
I went for a swim (at night ) and it was wonderfull but scary af. All dark water and i was blinking like a fucking torch.
>>677785223
Orcas aren't the only dicks of the sea.
Dolphins are fucking assholes to smaller creatures too.
