Not a stabbing tool, just a sharp point. It's good for working with lines when I'm out sailing, and penetrating plastic wrapping on stuff. So far I've been able to avoid needing to stab anything other than a chicken.

Why the fuck is it camo? So you can hide it in the grass?

It doesn't even make sense - it's either in your pocket or in your hand, so the camo is.....camo'd.

Finally! A worthy answer.
>>
>>677478393
Black cars =/= secret agent. That started with Henry Ford "any colour as long as it's black"

And camo isn't a colour, it's a range of colours and patterns designed to hide the object or break up its outline. So you chose the colour of a knife that makes it difficult to find if you drop it on a grassy field. And you call me a faggot.

But your defence shows the level of sensitivity and butthurt you now feel when the retardation implied by your choice is pointed out.

"Why do the knife manufacturers make them in camo, then?", you ask.

So retarded little gearfags like you can pretend you're Leet Oper8ors, just like the SEALs
>>
>>677478868

>>
>>677483236

where are you?
and in general, how are knife laws where the rest of you are?
I'm in Scotland and we're only allowed to carry up to three inches and it must be a non-locking blade. Like, surely having a blade that doesnt lock is more dangerous than the former? Goodbye fingers
>>
>>677483495

Great knives, sharp albeit can be thin. Sucks that getting them wet can render them useless though, due to the wood expanding around the blade.
>>
>>677483372
>>677483543

Denmark.

used to carry a leatherman tool but can't anymore

rules are basically this:
>cannot be operated with one hand
>cannot be locked in open or closed position
>must be under 7cm

a multitool can usually be unfolded with one handed (although very difficult) so it is illegal to carry

I get equipment in boxes delivered to me every day at work. I'll also use my knife for food prep, like peeling pears.

On the weekend, I carry a more robust knife because I go hiking at least once a week. There are grizzlies, moose, wolves, coyotes, and cougars where I live, and I have a small dog that I know I wouldn't hesitate to defend, so I might as well have a small, lightweight weapon that's also a tool.

That same knife saved the life of a kayaker I came across about 3 years ago.

>What's wrong with a gun?
Because the chance I'll actually NEED to defend myself against a grizzly or moose is so tiny that I'd rather have a weapon that is actually more of a tool.

I also own bear mace for camping, which honestly is better against bears that most guns.

Their territory = Canada.
I can work with that advice.

> Moose attack only to defend, just don't provoke them and stay out their territory. As dangerous as wolves? You best be trolling.
Moose don't attack just to defend, they are super territorial. Wolves are some of the least dangerous animals you can encounter because they like to avoid humans. Moose injure a lot more people than wolves do.

Close for my, I use the Kershaw Blur.

I know, the tiger stripe is gay as fuck, but I found them on Woot! for $25, and considering I had already lost 3 at $70 each I figured I could live with the tiger stripes for that kind of discount.

Tougher steels hold an edge longer, but are harder to sharpen. Typically higher end brands use better steels, just look at the specs

It all depends on the steel, really. If you want something that will get a razor edge with no effort, look for AUS8.
CR414 basically is the opposite. It takes real time to hone, but it will keep the edge for awhile.

>>
>>677489879
short answer: yes.

learn how to work properly with a knife, get a knife made from quality steel with good edge retention and a lansky diamond set.

my boss replaced box cutters with fixed blade knives and a sharpening station.
at first we hated it, but now we think different.
