I agree that it looks aesthetically better and i would rather put it up than the other realism stuff, but obviously the project for this class was not 'make a glass of wine' but to recreate a very specific style and image.
On the other hand, some of the gradient's and color splotches look too good to be a mistake.. so.. maybe she didn't understand the point of the project?.
