Many techniques and katas were not effective due to my size. my length and flexibility me very difficult to obtain a submission from because my joints could bend farther that the limbs of the person trying to twist them.

I was never able to afford martial arts lessons, so I'm more self taught than anything however I was lucky enough that my two best friends were very trained, one was amazing at boxing and wrestling and mma

The other was a 2nd degree black belt in Kenpo and also knew a lot of boxing,
So we all trained together over the years and they have helped me ot make sure I wasn't developing sloppy habbits and what not

I mostly practice kick boxing, with some Muay Thai techniques and Kenpo techniques thrown in, I know some Sambo for ground game and do Capoeria for exercise ( idc what anyone says it doesn't work in the streets. )

Boxing & Muay Thai, starting to learn some wrastlin too in case I end up in a fight with one of these pussies who like to cuddle men on the floor (AKA BJJfags) - Although it's moronic to learn a stand up focused martial art without any takedown/floor defense, it is doubly retarded to learn a takedown/floor focused martial art without any standup defense.

What's a good striking martial arts to take that works in street fights? Any good grappling one?

Why not go with an art that was developed over hundreds and hundreds of years and has been combat tested and proven?
