No, I was too scared to get a dry socket so I didn't risk smoking. On the second night I got impatient so I put guaze over the holes and very very lightly ripped my flight box.

On the paper they gave me it said you can do gentle brushing on the surgical site on the third day, I figured if it could be brushed smoking won't hurt. So for a few days I would just use my flight box very gently until my mouth didn't feel so fragile.

It's been a couple months and I've been fine since. I had a really good dentist who specialized in tooth removal, I only had to use 2 pain killers and that was the day of the surgery. I still have ten left >:)

They're just the leaves that pushed the seed case open. Now that job is done, they're no longer needed as photosynthesis can be done much more efficiently by full sized leaves.
If the "real" leaves start yellowing, it's probably Nitrogen deficiency, but what you're seeing there is just natural leaf loss.
