The fact that something exists doesn't necessarily mean that a sentient being created it, or that it's possible to contact that being through prayer. I don't rule out the idea of a higher power existing in this universe, i just don't follow any religion because i wasn't raised into one. Even if i were to discover such a higher power, which religion should i choose? There are so many to pick one, each claiming to be the only one true faith. If i were to discover god by my own means or via divine revelation, should i just start my own religion based on what I've discovered? I'm too delirious and lazy to consider what the previous posts in this thread say, but not too delirious to offer my 2¢.

So here's my chump change. I think a lot of atheists are angry, scared, and frustrated by what they believe. They express their discontent by tearing down anyone who disagrees with them, attempting to affirm their perspective as objective truth.
