Hey /b/ I finally have a job and some cash saved to put together a PC for gaming but I'm also completely clueless.

So far I have an AMD R390X (couldn't pass up at $200)
Intel i7-5820k
800 watt power supply
480GB SSD

Right now I'm looking for a case, motherboard, ram, and good cooling since my gpu runs a bit hot at high settings. These are what I've been looking at on Newegg.

Case: Thermaltake Overseer Steel/Plastic http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133194

Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231902

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-UD5 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128838

Cpu Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181094

GPU Cooler: ARCTIC COOLING ACACC00015A Fluid Dynamic VGA Cooler, A Multi-compatible Air/Liquid Cooler for Graphic Card -R9 290X
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186151

I've had a hard time finding VGA liquid coolers, would it be better just to DYI?

Thanks /b/

That motherboard will not fit your processor. The 5820k is an LGA2011v3 processor and you have an LGA1151 socket board listed. Change the board and possible the ram if you cant find a DDR4 2011v3 board.

pick up something that looks nice to you that has enough room, at least 3 120mm fans, and is easy to work with

>RAM
16GB of whatever from a non-shit company, RAM doesnt mean shit as long as youre running it in dual channel and its got a decent capacity

>motherboard
does it have everything you want on and from it? if so, good, get it.

>cooler
if you dont plan on going for mad overclocks get a hyper212 and call it a day, itll save you from the hassle of a dead pump or a bent board

>watercooled GPU
dont waste your time, watercooling is only for people who already have multiple flagship cards in their system
>>

I have had the same board and CPU for the last 5 years. I have had only problems with AMD so I bought a 1366 board and cpu off ebay and never looked back.
>>
>>676364991
I'm into building a new pc too when I get my tax rebate.

Keep saving, don't waste your cash on a new PC. Be an adult.

>>676366761
You dont need gpu cooling?
What makes you think this.
There are fans on your gpu.
Your AIO cpu cooler is worse then an air fan.Get a notcua d14/d15
>DIY
If you're asking about a custom loop, you have no where near enough money. Its about $500 startup just for the cpu.

For a CPU Cooler the Hyper 212 EVO which is an air cooler will do just fine unless you are overclocking to crazy clocks.

So dont spend money on something you're going to replace?

How retarded are you seriously?
>>
>>676367331
I was thinking either x79 or z170 if I go with the go big and then don't touch it for years route.

My mobo is dying and 1366 motherboards are so astronomically expensive it would not make sense to get another board
>>
>>676367815
My X4 955 I had blew up on me and after that I bit the bullet and went Intel. I do shill for Intel because they do what I want them to do and I am fine with spending more for what is in my opinion a more quality CPU.

Maybe Zen will change my mind but it's a long shot.

I did everything right and it just died. At that time I had just bought a new car and had zero money to fix it so I was without a computer for a month and a half. Maybe I did do something wrong, either way it never happened again when I went Intel.
>>
>>676368399
Liquid on CPU makes sense if you want huge overclocks. Liquid on GPU has never made sense to me and I don't think it ever will.
>>
http://www.logicalincrements.com/
general guide if you have no idea what you're doing ^

The specs you have listed would require a beast gpu to get balue, I would suggest downgrading to a pc that can handle 970 and below
>>
>>676368399
liquid cooling is what you invest in when youve blown so much money on a rig that standard air cooling flat out doesnt keep everything cool enough, its for the guys running 2+ overclocked furys or 980tis in a case with a ton of other power hungry hardware in it.

>>676368561
>I did everything right and it just died
thats not how this works, CPUs have very little room to "just die"

You can bend pins on any fucking cpu, they are literally the same material

I wouldnt buy a car to then full on replace it the next month, now im not suprised you choose intel. You fit the userbase perfectly.

The air flow is fine. Never even came close to my GPU overheating, no matter what game load it's under. The giant fan on the top sucks the heat out well. Keep in mind that probably all of the people recomending a liquid cooled anything, have probably never set one up. In my opinion, they aren't worth the cost or the hassle if they aren't needed. Unless you're running multiple cards and it's always 80+ degrees in your room, you don't need it.

yes, i also understand that my current setup is still running nicely whereas the people who went with the meme builds when i bought mine are now struggling because it turned out those extra compute units mattered.
