yeah, i will admit that it wasn't the most original concept. "generic evil monster-race threaten the world, only YOU can stop them for whatever reason" but the execution really blew me away. in terms of story telling elements, i fell in love with it immediately. Portal is a good choice. Battletoads is frustrating as all hell

But still even with the lack of plot the game isnt all gameplay. Dark Souls is my favorite video game of all time because of how well the world was built and how it felt. Dark Souls felt so vast and felt like an adventure the first play through.
But yeh. Gameplay > story for Dark Souls but the story is still good in its own way.
