You get one or the other. Watch Survivorman half the show is him crying about being cold. Yes that's real, but it's not informative.
Everyone uses the Hawaii episode as "evidence" of the worthlessness of him. First of all, Hawaii was one of the first, if not the the first episodes. They get better. 2. Hawaii is a stupid fucking example anyway particularly Oahu because the island is so small and populous no matter where you are, you can just walk for help in a couple hours max.
