Best advice I can give you is, and you might not like it:
Draw from life/reality. Once you understand a few fundamentals and basic forms you'll be able to turn it around in your head and stylize and simplify it as much as you want.

People assume you move from cartooning to reality, but actually, it's the other way around. You need to understand how it works before you can manipulate it.

I'm in the same boat as you, try and get a feel for the body style you want your character to have. Move at your own pace and work from the head down. Use references as much as possible until your body drawings are muscle memory.

Because they are useless. Plain and simple. The subject they touch can only mean anything to already taught artists who have nothing to learn from them.

As a dabbling artist, you will need practice and refferences. You will need to study photos to understand concepts like color theory, anatomy, perspective.

Those tutorial make it seems like you can skip these steps. You can't. And after a number of years spent following those shit, you will find your level capped and will have to go through the tedious process of relearning EVERYTHING properly.

Spare yourself that, and train normally.

Here's a really simple one that you can do right now. Take pencil in one hand and draw your other hand. Every crease, line, shadow, folds of skin on the knuckles, hair on the back of your palms, fingernails, where the light strikes and fades against each finger. Then flip it over and do the palm. Extra credit for fingerprints.

You have now done a daily warm-up excersize to the extreme.
