It's one of those things that's either prepared good, or it sucks. My mom used to make a soup with like potatoes, onions, carrots, spinach, cream and chicken livers. That shit was amazing. Probably one of my favorite things she cooked actually.

Chicken liver can taste a bit strong by themselves though. I prefer calf liver to it for that reason.

Then again, liver is probably something you should avoid as much as possible. It's basically pure cholesterol, so not the healthiest thing in the world.

The maggots do serve a purpose though. Some maggots only eating rotting stuff, and others fresh. Those particular ones only eat fresh stuff, so their presence tells you that the cheese isn't spoiled. I mean aside from being infested with maggots.
