Thinking about getting a new one, any recomendations?

kaspersky is good but it can get really fucking annoying

Kaspersky and Malwarebytes
>>
Kaspersky is supposed to be the best from a purely detection rate perspective. AVG full version is absolute shit, the free version it better. I can't believe how'd they punish their paying customers by making that glitchy shit so bad when you get full version.

This. Best combination. Kaspersky provides a good real time protection and malwarebytes can detect any kind of malware (i scan the entire system once a week)
>>
>>675824861
Could use it, if you don't want it

I'm currently using that one , but I don't know if it is making my laptop slow or if my laptop is the problem.
>>
>>675825172
better option since this faggot is retarded. Get a keygen for malwarebytes since they actually aren't that mad at pirates and have mbam do your RTP instead of crapping up your whole system with another program.
>>
>>675825172
First, i agree even the free version of malwarebytes can be good enough to protect your pc against the few things that kaspersky can't detect.
>once a week
what kind of sites do you browse m8?!
>>
>>675825492
I have the free version of malwarebytes so it doesn't run unless i scan the system. In my opinion kaspersky is better for real time protection. Cheers

Microsoft basic. Unless you are downloading executables or not using adblock/noscript when going to strange websites, you will never see a fucking virus.

If you do see a virus:

1) Cut off your comp's internet connection (to prevent redownloading) while deleting the virus or malware.
2) Run CCleaner
3) Run the registry cleaner in CCleaner
4) Check for unfamiliar installed programs, unfamiliar programs in your startup or programs that load when you open a browser (can be done through CCleaner). Uninstall as needed.
5) Do a system restore in safe mode if all else fails.

Antivirus just sucks up your ram and cpu unless you're a moron who doesn't take simple precautions.

Windows Defender unless you're a tech-illiterate retard.

According to https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/
Kaspersky is clearly the best one to have right now. Bitdefender is usually neck and neck with them. I havent tried bit defender, but im not a big kaspersky fan.

Likely your laptop. Avast is the least taxing antivirus available.
>>
Most of antiviruses behave like viruses: slow down computer and delete important data (on false alarm).

Just fucking upload shit on virustotal, keep stuff updated and you will be fine. Once in a while run hijackthis to see if you got shit

I use none because you gotta be a fucking retard to catch a virus in 2016.
Hell, adblock does everything for you.
I mean, by now, I'm really having a hard time downloading viruses on purpose to have fun on a VM.

You should run ccleaner and do everything on that list once a month anyway, just to keep your computer from slowing down.

Spend that $50 on some sterno or robotussin like a boss.

im a cyber security consultant. Personal protection best is bitdefender.
