I was wondering, what would happen if a Ice sun would collide with a normal fire sun? Would they melt eachother? Would the sun be 0 degrees kevin?

Discus!

it's called a lava sun you dumb ass. Also, the lava would be cooled by the ice creating a big rock sun, while the ice would turn to water and steam creating clouds. You'd end with what resembles a huge planet of rock, water and clouds.

-273°C is the equivalent of 0°K, which is absolute zero, the temperature at which all atoms would stop moving. It simply cannot get colder than that because atoms cannot become any more motionless.

The body's temperature depends on average kinetic energy of the body's molecules, not on just their velocity. Kinetic energy is proportional to a square of the object's velocity. Negative temp. by Kelvin's scale means that the molecules have negative kinetic energy. Consequently, if the kinetic energy is negative, a square of the velocity is also negative. Number with such a property only exist in non-real subset of the set of Quaternions. Can you fucking imagine this ?

>>
>>675825114
Ok, another question then.
Equally massive planets collide.
One is 100% -100C ice.
Other is 100% +100C water.
What happens?
Will it be twice as massive 0C ice planet? Or 0C water planet? Something else?
>>
>>675819880
Normal fire sun is nuclear fusion, so it is generating new heat while the ice star is not generating more cold. The fire sun would vaporize the ice sun and create a cloud of ice crystals around it.

>>675819880
ok, there are a lot of complications, more than what I know of. The short answer, after a lot of simplifications, is that not much would happen, you would just give the sun more fuel. See, the sun isn't just an object that was heated to its current temperature long ago. It is constantly heated. Your "ice sun" however, is not constantly cooled as far as I can tell, so it would eventually all be heated.

It doesn't feel good to say that though. Here are some complications:
1. You can't go cooler than -273.15 C = 0 K.

2. If you take a ball of gas as large and heavy as the sun, then it would become a sun, at least if it was hydrogen gas. It wouldn't stay cool because of the gravity. (Just read about why a sun is hot and why it doesn't collapse upon itself etc.) If it was made of heavier atoms, then I guess it would go supernova.

The best way to formulate your question would perhaps be: "If an even layer of hydrogen gas, at the temperature of deep space (3 K), was added around the sun, densely enough to occupy a volume equal to the sun's volume, what would happen then?" .. And I don't know the answer, but I definitely think the sun would survive. I suggest you visit a university, the physics department.

Here's an alternative way, I guess: "If a sphere of hydrogen at absolute zero (0 K) appear out of nothing and crashed into the sun before it had time to heat up from its on gravity, what would happen?" I don't have the answer to that either, but you wouldn't extinguish the sun. The shear mass at such density would eventually just supply more energy.

>>
>>675825561
The potential energy of the two planets would vaporize them both. Depending on external influence (or the complete lack thereof) they would maybe reform into a planet of 2x mass.

But yes temperature does work like that (100-100=0 for the SAME materiel same mass) in a controlled environment.
>>
>>675825561
Water at 100°C becomes steam. Upon collission, most of the steam would simply dissipate in space and the remaining steam caught in the gravitational pull of the ice planet would surround the ice and slowly condensate to form an oceanic top above the ice, which would then slowly freeze.
>>
>>675825873
Nothing, you probably always were too stupid to figure it out.

>>

>>
>>675825910
das right
that's how we know it takes more energy to make a sun out of ice than our of fire
>>
>>675825418
The thing is tho, heat radiates way more than cold. So the hot sun would have the advantage here. They may be exact opposite temperatures but the hot suns power will reach the ice sun while they are approaching
>>
>>675825860
Yes, especially when one is completely unaware that they have it, as you are.
>>
>>675825910
Things become solid when they lose so much energy that the molecules are no longer moving freely among each other there is no energy gain in the transition of mater from gas to liquid to solid only the other way around, temperature is essentially the measurement of kinetic energy in the molecules of a substance

Learn about conservation of energy, retard.
>>
>>675826811
It's the opposite of energy.... heat leaving the water turns it into ice, also conservation of energy doesn't exist it's conservation of mass and energy now ... only been out over 100 years so I get that it's just changed so I understand ya don't know that yet

>>

>>675827343

>>
>>675824184
If you reach 100F you die. Thats cool.
>>
>>675827340
If it works like that, why doesn't our Earths air and oceans instantly dissipate-vaporize into the cosmos?
Checkmate, atheist.
legit question tho.
>>
All kinds of bad shit would happen if these two got near each other. A sun sized object made out of ice is many many times heavier than our sun, our sun would orbit the ice star while it's corona would get stripped off by gravity as they got close enough. As the orbit decayed more and more mass would be added to rapidly melting and uncompressable water surface of the ice star. Eventually the hydrostatic equilibrium would be overcome and the whole thing would basically blow apart with increadable force which would pretty much ruin every thing inside Saturn's orbit. The inner planets would be baked. Pretty sure most of the mass would be ejected and you would be left with a cool massive brown dwarf and eventually lots of comets ejected out in random orbits.

Would be pretty cool to watch from a few 10 light years away.
>>
>>675827343
Antienergy is actually a thing technically it's not called that though, similar idea as antimatter or similar to dark energy but that'd just proposed theories about dark energy
>>
>>675827643

Antimatter is matter with the exact opposite quantum arrangement. When it contacts normal matter it coverts into pure energy. The only process for 100% efficient conversion known to physics.

Antimatter is created and stored under deep vacuum and contained in a magnetic bottle to prevent its anhilation. It is also the most expensive substance ever created by man.
