I personally am really enjoying The Division but if you just want competitive shooting action, wait for the new DOOM game or the latest unreal tournament project. If you want survival I found Ark:Survival pretty cool, just a little boring at times, but once you start riding the dinos it gets pretty awesome.

I've got a little over 4 days total in the Division and I'm still enjoying it. Definitely a game to play with friends though, if you go in solo you will hate it.

I can be honest about it though, you reach max level fairly quickly and the rest is just farming for loot. However, it isn't that repetitive unless you make it repetitive. There are several ways to farm high end gear and all of them are pretty effective. The DZ level grind never ends though, thankfully they patched it to where players are actually killing each other again. The Dark Zone is finally as fun as it was in the beta and it has turned into an absolute bloodbath since Tuesdays patch.

But play what you want, DOOM will probably take my attention away from the Division until the DLC drops so you might want to consider that game as well, the multiplayer looks amazing

Try out rocket league, it's been giving me my online fix for awhile now and for $20 it's easier on the wallet for cheap fucks

yeah there is no PVP in the game even though ubisoft announced it as a great option to choose. the punishment if you go rogue and kill other players is horrendous.. you go down several levels, lose thousands of credits and much more. this is the one thing that pisses me off about this game cause i really wanted to fuck with people in the DZ. a lot of people complain about how everything is the same and its repetitive and the mobs dont change which is true, but for me i dont care much about that.. the gameplay is fun as shit and requires teamwork. for me its not grindy at all compared to destiny. im not doing the same bullshit over and over and over again just to get a slight chance to get this engram so i can turn it in and get a slight chance of the engram to be something good when it really isnt.. in this game you kill a mob, loot, equip.

idk.. a lot of people seem to hate this game which is fine and i completely understand. im more mad about how many fucking bugs there still is, but to me this game is fun and enjoyable. plus the content they are releases looks good and they are giving out free DLCs as well. yes this game could have been so much better.. i just hope they at least continue with it and let us expand outside of the current map. and im the same as you OP.. i cant find any fucking games to keep my attention.. i get bored of them too quick.. it seems like games nowadays are horribly made and the devs cut major corners.. like gaming is a giant cash grab now.. i remember playing games years ago for fucking years.. even if it was a single player game i would replay the story cause it was so immersive..

yeah ive taken it slow on leveling because i dont want to rush it and plus i cant play that often. im also helping a friend catch up.. i convinced him to get it. i enjoyed it when playing solo because of the matchmaking which works out very nicely. i didnt play the beta and though that the whole game was open world and not just the DZ but thats fine cause you can group with people to free roam. i think its a decent game. could always be better but i didnt feel like i got ripped off. i only payed 60 bucks for it and the free DLC they are releasing looks good.

From what ive read, you only played FPS games so far. Idk, wrap it up a little and change the Genre. Try a MOBA (i've got like 3000 hours in League and 500 and more to come in Dota 2, they just never get boring), or go with RTS (although rts is pretty dead at the moment, StarCraft 2 can be addicting)

Division is fun, but it has a short fuse on the fun side of things. Almost all my friends are feeling the burnout after a few days of play...it's not worth the current price.
