The W220 S65's I've looked at were very well maintained so I'm inclined to think that continued service will keep it going for a while without any issues. My ML500 has 130K on it and I have yet to have a single major issue and my CLK is humming right along at 78K.

My boss has a 2006 S65 AMG and an SL65. Every year we have a staff car show and my AMG's are always parked next to his.

I had a W140 S600 years ago and loved that thing to death, but a dizzy soccer mom plowed her Honda odyssey into me while texting and driving. I was completely unscratched and aside from whiplash was pretty good.

A $20k 03/04 Cobra will have around 20k-45k miles on it. And they are all well taken care of. If you want one beat to shit, it would probably be closer to $13k-15k. But, even then, they are built engines that can last to well over 200 miles before a rebuild.

And you daily a 392? Why? Anyone with a high output V8 should have it as a weekend car. My daily is either my 02 Lincoln LS V8 or my 06 Mazdaspeed6.

I bought the Cobra to build it into a 900+ rwhp car, then I saw how easy it was to get these engines over 1100 rwhp, so I'm doing just that. And buying an 03/04 Cobra doesn't just get you a built V8, it also gets you the Tremec 6-speed, 8.8" IRS, Bilstein shocks and springs, Brembo brakes, a light weight drive train that nets around a only 10%-11% loss, and the hood and front bumper already can house a bigger supercharger or twin turbo kit with no clearance issues.

They really are pretty great cars.

Not saying the Challengers with the 392 or Hellcat engines aren't great as well. It's just that the Terminator was built to be modified. While the 392 and Hellcats were built to be as fast as they are. Sure, you can make them faster, but you really want to start with the internals and the heads when you start modifying the Hemi's.
