The papers, lamp, eye glasses, ashtray, cigs, etc. all imply the person was sitting in the stool facing the papers, smoking the cig with the left hand and ashing it to that side.
If the person shot themselves sitting in that position, facing the wall, with the gun in their right hand, the blood splatter would have been on the opposite side of the room.
It's possible the person turned around, away from the paperwork to kill himself, but it's suspicious that the cigarette is still in the person's hand.
It's also interesting that the lamp is unplugged, but there's really not enough information to definitively conclude that it was not a suicide. I suppose I'm supposed to consider the possibility that the paper is a fake suicide note and the unplugged lamp shows that someone merely arranged the area to appear natural, I don't know, it's just a drawing.
It doesn't make sense for the cigarette to be in the hand of the person if they committed suicide though.
I'd check the head to see if the shot was point blank or from a distance, IRL
I'd also check the room for spent casings, the hand+arm+shirt for carbon discharge from the weapon,
