Get your agility up to increase your invincibility frames while rolling. Also, wear armor that keeps your weight under 70%. Roll to the right of this attacks and keep in mind that the most his combo can be is 3 attacks (maybe, rarely, 4). Hit him once, MAYBE twice, and then back off to bait out either his combo or dash or his grab (all are avoided the same way with basically the same timing). Don't hold the block/shield button down all the time, try to just have it up when he's going for an attack. Also, if you need to heal, avoid his attacks and then go for a heal as soon as you can. It's basically skipping your attack phase to heal.

I didn't parry (I was and am shit at it), and the launcher thing always got wrecked when I tried it.

Dark Souls 2 is really about dodging, anon. Figure out how to avoid attacks and minimize how often you're tanking them with your shield. After that, you're set.

Also, fuck Lud and Zallen. Ignoring how much of a pain in the ass they are, the trek across asshole reindeer hell is exhausting. Thank God Bloodborne made the runs to bosses a hell of a lot faster.

Controls and HUD are better in dark souls 2, but that's kind of bound to happen. Of course they'd work the jank out a little bit.

That said, I never was fond of DS2 in the same way that I am Bloodborne and DS1. From Soft's B team made DS2 and it shows. Also, the animations in DS2 have this weird... I don't know, effect to them that just seems too colorful.

That said, the WORLD of DS2 is shoddily put together and feels mashed together. Bloodborne and DS1 did a much, much better job of having everything flow nicely together. Half of the places in DS2 make almost no sense spatially in relation to one another.

It's still more cohesive relative to DS2, which is what I said. Going from the main hub in DS2 to the Iron King is nonsensical, period. That entire route is simply silly. Also, I was talking about the actual way that landscape and areas are fitted together, and not the internal logic of the games. I don't care that the gargoyles carry you up, but Sen's Fortress relative to Anor Londo does make sense.

There's nothing strange about the way the Forest and the Undead Burg are connected, not even close to the bizarre way you go from Hunter's Copse to Earthen Valley and then UP toward the Iron Keep.
