Green snakes. Very bright green snakes that like to move around in my coconut trees.
Brown snakes. I almost stepped on one as fat as my dick.
Grey snakes that hide under garden waste. I accidentally hit one one the head after which it stand up like a cobra and sent me running away.
A black snake. Cut that one in half when tilling the soil.
A watersnake, black silverfish living in my water well.

I do not allow snakes in my house so I took a pole and tried to squash it.
Pole missed the snake but hit waste water pipe under the sink.
Snake took hint and went out.

They are pretty chill lizards. They are easy to feed too since they like veggies and insects. Only thing I can say is a downside is that they crap a lot.

I manage to get mine to not eat as much insects so I dont have to run to the store when their worm supply is low.

They eat pretty well on dried crickets and this feed that looks like and smells like crunch berries.

Overall pretty cool pet. Never have been bitten or tail whipped.

doesn't have to be huge or very tall, like 3-4 feet long and 1-2 feet wide should be fine. When their small you could keep it in a 10 gallon tank
>>
>>674786186
Great! I'd imagine if I was playful with it from birth it would be friendly too?
>>
>>674785682
A baby needs a 20 gal. because of the heat distribution.

An adult needs at least a 30-40 gal. with a lot of floor space. If you get a standard make sure the lizzard has plenty of things to climb on.

Dont use sand as a substrate. Instead use either rouch tiles or that fake tile that has a sticky surface on the back. It will be easier to clean and maintain.

If you want to take him out and interact theres harness's and leashes for lizards.

>>
>>674787114
Well If you stick a baby in a a 40 gal. and have the basking spot on one side. Naturally the lizard is only going to stay in that one side.

A 20 gal. is small enough that the heat distributes to the other side.

Bearded dragons dont need humidity. Just look up how dry their natural habitat is. They are from the outbacks of Australia.

Ok snake owners prepare for a lot of retarted questions coming from zero experience with reptiles.

I think snakes are super cool and would love one but how do you get them to cooperate with you?

I mean if you own a 2 meter long python isn't it a bit dangerous? These things strangle small animals like nothing, do they try to attack you sometimes?
Do you keep it in a confined space and never let it out, do you train it somehow? I guess they don't get too well with other animals
Finally, generally speaking do they require much care or do you just feed them once a day or something?

>>
>>674789286
Snakes are pretty much the shittiest pets you can get
People only have them for the novelty factor and/or to be edgy

If you want something to look at get some fish, there are even quite costly ones if you want

If you want something to play with get something with hairs or a tortoise
>>
>>674782271
Do you want a reptile that pretty much does nothing ever twice as much as other lizards then yeah, get a bearded dragon. They're cool as shit but they're high all the time so they don't do anything

>>674790392
yeah well man that's just like you're opinion
>>
>>674789286
1. as long as they're handled pretty regularly they're cooperative. and the more time you spend with them the more you understand how they think and what they'll tolerate
2. meh, i mean they could kill you if they really fucking wanted it. but you're too big to kill and eat so they don't care as long as you're not a threat
3. I've only been bit a few times, and all times were because it was a wild snake or because i stuck my hand in the the terrarium while there was food in there. both scenarios the snake struck and backed away
4. I take all mine out at least once a week, they usually crawl everywhere for about an hour then chill
5. feed them when they need fed as it varies depending on size, species, and conditions you have them in. clean the terrarium when it needs cleaned and pick up their shit. make sure they have water, make sure you have the right temps and humility.

once you have a terrarium set up they are pretty low maintenance
>>
>>674790251
I always wanted an iguana
Are they expensive and or hard to take care of? What are some things to keep in mind if I wanted one
>>
>>674789286
Id say its all based on how stressed the snake is.

If it has a sizable home with plenty of space and a full stomach with not a lot of noise or other people it will have no reason to be aggressive.

Depending on the species and the size of the meal. Most snakes should only eat once a week. Once a month if its a big snake and you feed it a pig.

Also it really depends on the species, Like ball pythons. They are very placid and docile and prefer to transform into a ball when threatened.

A blood python however is very defensive when its a baby.
>>
>>674790738
I've heard some are assholes and aggressive little shits

>>
ive got a normal ball python, columbian rainbow boa, okeetee corn snake, red striped corn snake, bearded dragon, savannah monitor and alligator snapping turtle
>>
>>674790738
Both. The costs of everything adds up QUICKLY. And yea. It took about a year and a half before I coukd fully handle him without him snapping at me. Breeding season sucks because they can get very aggressive and territorial when they wanna do fuck on a female iguana. But once you have then tamed they are amazing pets. Mine will take naps with me and watch TV with me. I walk him on a leash in petstores and shit. He's awesome to have
>>
>>674790831
my ball pythons are fed every two weeks because otherwise they won't eat.

If you want to get a snake, I'd say go with a ball python or a red tail for your first. Both are very docile and eat pretty well.
>>674791379
what's your setup like? how often do you handle it? was it handled when it was young?
One of my sister's beardies get's pissed easily because he wasn't handled much when he was young due to illness.
>>674791592
pics?
>>
>>674791379
naw mine dont even show aggression when I move their food.

The worst thing they do is flair their beards at other people thats not me.

If you have trouble with yours just hand feed them. They will associate you with food and not perceive you as a threat.
