Matlock didn't fit into McLaren's idea of "punk," but he was a far better musician. Rumors have always persisted about a roadie playing bass for Sid behind the stage, and I believe them, but don't know for a fact.

Which is funny when you think about how skinny he was, but supposedly he was a decent brawler until Nancy Spungen got him addicted to heroin.
