The universe is too large, it is almost assured that alien life forms exists in some form or another. The conditions that appear to be required for life to arise are common enough that the universe should be teeming with life forms. Now INTELLIGENT life.. that's something else entirely and it is difficult to say what the chances of that are.

Once the Alcubierre drive completes successful testing AND we find a more effective means of producing antimatter, we can start to explore the galaxy. My personal opinion is that we need to hurry up and get started because humanity needs to push itself to succeed and advance. All this meaningless bullshit that we waste our time and effort and resources on are holding us back and we will have a better chance of surviving past a "human" timeframe into a "geological", "planetary" or even "galactic" timeframe if we make that effort.

Also the likelihood that this early in the life of the universe, and the same conditions as earth, in about the same order, and something close to a design like us (ape) that wouldn't need the use of their hands (for walking) is unlikely. Also the evidence that our brains doubled in about 2 mil years probably due to psilocybin mushrooms or DMT related substances would also be unlikely that those things also developed in other environments or at the same time.

tl;dr? Life, yes. Complex life like us, probably not yet.

We are not even 0.001% of the universe. the odds that we ARE alone, are even less than that. however, im not sure if we will get to meet them in our lifetime. maybe in the future alien civilisations will connect with each other, but i highly doubt it will happen to us in the recent future. if we had no religon or wars in the world maybe in 500 years we could be the ones that initiate and explore the galaxy, but till then we are walking in the dark.
Off topic , before you go look for an intelligent life form in outter space you should try to find one in america or in the middle east first.
