There was a time when I wanted to join the Army but then I realized I only wanted to join the Army because I had no other options in my life and the Army was the only thing opening its arms wide to a vulnerable, weak youth. The reason I reconsidered joining the Army is because I began to read more books and become more educated. I began to realize that I can go to college and make my own self worth and forge an identity of my own. I didn't need the Army to be a strong, brave, warrior. All I needed was to open my eyes, be less ignorant and realize that in every person there is a strong, warrior who can be realized without the help of the government. You can buy a gym membership, go to college, and become something far greater than a military soldier, you can become a self made man. I'm not saying don't join the military because if joining the Army was always your life dream then go ahead more power to you but if the Army creeped into your life at a time you were vulnerable then you're just being caught in a trap.
