i have not came across these problems, i dont know where are they coming from. I refused some asked questions when i installed it and i have not recieved a single ad (online or offline) in a year, havent got any "stories", never get any popups (if this is waht you mean by wanting to be my friend).

about customization, i didnt do any of the sort and im perfectly comfortable with it, but this can be subjective

It started an auto install Sunday AM on my old lady's laptop that was running windows 7 and locked up.
I had to reinstall W7, but I'm thinking there's no way she isn't gonna have to use W10 someday soon.

I was more or less forced into buying a laptop with W8 my last time. I was using Vista before. W8 sucked.
I also had an auto upgrade to W10. I like it better than W8.
