I like nice things and I'm willing to invest good money into: anything leather (shoes, wallets, belts), fragrances ("colognes"), jackets and coats (as I plan on wearing them year after year), but there are a few things that I just don't care to dump money into: watches and pens.

I wear a $70 watch and I write with the pilot disposable fountain pens. As a teacher, I value penmanship but not enough to warrant purchasing a $2,000 pen. Besides, I'm always losing my pens. The pilot disposable ones write really well and are inexpensive enough that I don't feel bad about losing one.

As for watches, I just don't care enough/know enough about watches to buy a nice one. Citizen, Bulova, Invicta, Omega, Rolex... We're talking a price difference of thousands and thousands of dollars. Hold an Invicta up to a Rolex and the styling is so similar only a watchfag could tell you the intricate differences. I just don't see the point.
