I enjoy it for a more the more fantastical escapism type of fantasies. We were born human, but imagine if we weren't.
That being said though, I'm not on board with the whole otherkin thing. You have to take the cards life dealt you and roll with them. You can't act out life as some sort of lie you know isn't true.
