Well, I can explain. Think of the Earth. It is a globe. If you live at the Equator, you can move east and west, and you can go north and south. But if you go north, you will notice something. The more you go north, the less "space" you have to move either east or west, because a circle that is a parallel of the Equator is smaller. Parallel 45 is 2 times smaller than the Equator, which means you have less space to move east or west until you get to the next point.

And here comes the good part. If you go north enough, you will end up to the North Pole. Now, you can't go anymore north. What's north of north pole? Nothing. The same thing is with the Universe. There's nothing before the bigbang. Furthermore, not only there's nothing north of North Pole, but there's nothing east or west of it wither. The entire surface of the globe, all the points, is south of the North Pole.

So,everything is after the bigbang. Nothing existed before or simultaneously to it. And just the space on the surface of the Earth gets wider as you go south of the North Pole, so does space become bigger and with more matter as you go further from the bigbang.
