All of these threads are full of fuck.
There's nothing but porn and furs and just and
endless supply of the same shit over and over..
Post something different here, an interesting fact, or an unusual hobby..
if you're not here to jack off, post in this thread
You do know there are other boards apart from /b/ right OP? for the past 7 years this board has been nothing but furry/loli/gore threads, the fact that you are begging for something different only implies you are a newfag of some sorts.

I feel your pain. I used to come here and laugh my ass off and have some really good conversations. now its like i go to /b/ and everytime theres a thread with a picture of a fucking pizza always at the top while the good threads done even stand a chance, I honestly think reddit is better if you want to talk to normal people and learn shit. I imagine everyone on 4chan is fat and has zero desire in life other than to jerk it to cartoons and say /thread and post shit memes

You could also just use fret tap like on a violin until you can play with proper intonation.

very smooth.. the fretless adds some, but i think it's you who has a very nice touch

what is this? I love how there's a gun on the package
>>673486198
The side markers work just fine and it has small marks where the frets used to be because the previous owner defretted it.
>>673486254
It's just a little tune in D-minor, works well with fretless because you can get that melancholic whiny tone out of it. My intonation still needs a lot of work though, no doubt about that.

Many commercial instruments even come with full lines, elitism is stupid in this case, especially when you just want to use it as a side-instrument. And markers on a fretless actually make more sense compared to an upright, there is more room for error on an upright because of the larger scale length.
>>673487407
Oh, dude, what a sick burn! You're so cool man, you totally showed them! Way to tell someone that the thing they like is no good, that's good work for the world.

>>673489028
It's just a Squier Affinity J-bass, nothing fancy. But it gets the job done and I effectively paid 40 bucks for it, which is kinda great.

Oof, a Sandberg you really have exquisite taste in basses. Also, 40 bucks ain't bad at all. Your little tune was fun, do you have a Soundcloud or Bandcamp?

Fretless bass can sound amazingly cool if played well. If you don't mind metal, bands featuring Dominic Lapointe (Augury, Beyond Creation) have some pretty crazy fretless bass work in them.
Anyone watching AlphaGo live stream?

>Oof, a Sandberg you really have exquisite taste in basses. Also, 40 bucks ain't bad at all. Your little tune was fun, do you have a Soundcloud or Bandcamp?
Sandbergs are thankfully "cheap" in europe. My classic special 5 cost me 2050€, that's basically as much as a Fender american standard would cost you, but the Sandberg is handmade in Germany to whatever specs you want (superlong scale, walnut top, ebony fretboard in my case). The thinline would be roughly the same price.
I don't have a soundcloud or anything like that, I've just been playing for less than a year, <6 months of properly playing with a teacher.
>>673491951
I've heard of him, really interesting, and I do like metal, but it's not something I strive for.

really grooving to this riff bud. Keep with it and making music. I've been playing guitar for a while without lessons and I must say, every time I pick it up I get a feeling like I should at least teach myself a bit more music theory.
just ordered these, anyone have these or know if they're any good? They were just released last month I think

>>673493752
Glad to hear someone is enjoying it, yeah music theory is pretty important if you ask me. I've only seen real progress ever since I had a teacher, I could only do very basic stuff and "learn songs" in the first 6 months, but once I got a teacher I finally learned good technique, and nowadays I can start to hear/sing intervals and figure out in what key certain songs are, which is pretty cool.
