No way Namek saga was hands down the best saga. That pivotal moment when Vegeta realizes he isn't a Super Saiyan was the first time we all seen the real human side of Vegeta. The look of raw defeat and failure. Plus let's not take away from that moment when we all got to whitness the greatest transformation of power in the history of anime. Super Saiyan.

As an aside, I think it was during the Namek Saga that I had maybe the funniest moment of my childhood.
At some point or another, Piccolo busted out the trusty Special Beam Cannon. Here's me at like 9 years old, on my feet in front of the TV, stoked to see some face get wrecked. So as he calls it out, I shout the same at the top of my lungs and fling my arm around behind me as he fires it off.
What I didn't notice in my frenzy was that my brother had come up behind me as I was standing there, so what actually happened from his point of view is that I shrieked out "SPECIAL BEAM CANNON," whirled around, and delivered a planet-sundering backhanded pimp slap right in his fucking mouth. It literally took him off his feet.

I felt bad about it at the time, but every time I think about DBZ, I think about the day I learned the awesome and terrible power of the Special Beam Cannon.
