Staples, at least the store that i worked for, doesn't want ANYONE actively working on your computer. (and from what Ive been told, its the same for best buy as well) Its; take it in, hook it up to the internet, run a modded version of team-viewer, let that sit til someone from a Office building picks up the work order remotely and then lets an automatic Virus Removal program do its fucking work. If your behind the desk for more than 10 mins you are told to get on the floor and help customers. There were rare times where I could actually work on motherboards and replace actual parts for customers but they were so few and far between because no one goes to staples for that shit. Before i left they started getting into the habit of kinda being dicks to customers when they came to us for help. We some times get old people come in with their printers and ask for help putting in the ink cartridge they just bought in for them since they are not sure how to themselves. Boss told them "if you pay 30$ we can help you with that" and would not budge. Customers would give us the shittiest fucking stares and worst back handed comments you can hear.

I liked the job when i was able to help someone because I thought it was nice. They fired me after I put my two weeks in. Fuck staples man.
