I didn't think I would like it but after an hour or two I was actually really enjoying it. It's better than most AAA major studio releases for the last couple years, in my opinion. The graphics aren't great, but the writing/music is fun and enjoyable and the overall pacing of the game is quite good.

I've found that most of the people who shit on it are pitiful edgelords who never even played it, kind of like half this thread.

The story itself can be 'friendly' or very dark. (Chara) The soundtrack is good. The dialogue is really good. The story itself CAN be amazing. And finally this whole game was made by one guy. I literally said it's okay if you say the game's not your style. I thought it looked kind of mediocre when I first saw it myself, but playing it changed my mind. If you played it and didn't like it, I would respect that opinion, but if you're just shitting on it to be edgy then that's your loss.

I wouldn't give the game GOTY or anything, but I had a lot of fun playing it and I've played worse games that cost $60 before DLC. Don't say it's a bad game if you've never played it, it's not a hard concept to grasp if your brain works.

Undyne and Alphys are cancer characters but the overall theme of the game was very well executed, and the way in which the 4th wall is utilized is masterful. It starts off slow, yeah, but the music and the characters are pretty cool and they grow on you. It's also a pretty chill game that anyone can play, and the game gives you the room to play it the way that you want to play. I'm not sure why people go literally insane over this game on tumblr, but it's a cute, neat game that's highly accessible and fun in a lot of different ways.

The pacifist run gimmick appeals to me because it actually makes the game harder, and I wanted an added challenge. The game probably would have been too easy for me otherwise, but other people who aren't as good at video games can have the chance to play too, which is fine. If you played it and decided it wasn't your thing, then that's cool, at least you tried it and can give your honest opinion of it, which I can respect. I've rarely been emotional over a game since Suikoden 2 and Tales of Symphonia.

The game just has so much thought and, I dare to say, soul, put into it. It feels so refreshing after all those AAA titles. Bro, this game is all story. Fuck the pixels and fuck your opinion. Theres like all this hidden shit underneath what you think is the game that unravels as you play. Its nothing like other games where there was just something subtle and then BAM your best friend is the last boss or some shit. No there was some serious serious though put into the story of this game.

Aside from that that gameplay mechanics are top-notch when it comes to creativity. This is the first time where this style of battle has ever come into play, and each fight is unique and memorable.

The music is godlike and the characters are all likeable and memorable. 99% of game characters aside from the hero and the anti-hero are forgotten. Undertale you remember all of them.

Seriously I'm not even a gamer and I avoided this game up until last month when I finally tried it out. It roped me right in holy fuck I nearly even cried at the ending.
