Lot of misconceptions here...allow me to clarify. I am posting as someone who knows Anjali, and works with her at the University of Miami. I am a resident physician as well, albeit in a completely different specialty.

All of my interactions with Anjali, both at work and outside of work have showed me is truly a compassionate and stand-up person. Imagine dedicating over 12 years of life in educating yourself to be a physician; the countless hours that you spent studying hard, along with the countless sacrifices. As a physician, I can't tell you how many times I have skipped seeing my own family, because I was busy tending to another's loved ones.

Anjali is no different...so why should she not be allowed to go out and have a few drinks, and blow off some steam. No one in this world disagrees that what she did was wrong, but on the same token, think of all the dumb things we ALL did while we were drunk. The only difference is that no one had the misfortune of recording it.

I recognize (and occasionally abhor) the fact that as a physician, we are held to a higher standard...yet people seem to forget we are as capable of making mistakes as they are.

Anjali made a mistake...and she has dearly paid for it. Her life will never be the same. It's time to let it go, and move on.

Society seems to forget issues like this as soon as the next big viral video comes along, so you are all truly wasting your time.

ALSO, just to clarify for you guys. She is not a med student...she is not a "brain surgeon"...etc. She is a RESIDENT PHYSICIAN (completed med school, has the letters MD after her name), in a NEUROLOGY residency program.

Btw, this is nothing that would cause her to lose her medical license, or her residency position. Sorry to burst your bubble. At the end of the day, she is a clinically competent and compassionate physician...and her getting into an argument with a taxi driver doesn't change that fact.
