Just been on my mind recently, having seen a few experiments (run by people who understand the numbers, are prominent in a scientific field, and understand just how much evidence is required to even suggest statistical significance) that show some really wonky shit going on with the human brain and how it seems to interact with relatively recent physics ideas.
Two people separated from earth's magnetic field by a giant Faraday cage (and put into small identical-yet-connected fields in separate rooms) being able to share a small fraction of sensory experiences across distances, for example... human consciousness skewing number generation, people inside Earth's magnetic field being able to "tell" when somebody is looking at them and being correct at around 70-75% (while it drops to the expected perfect 50 when the field is removed as a control), studies showing that people can actually react with stress responses to "emotionally-charged imagery" (and with some people reliably) before it's even shown to the person, etc. Wonky shit we can't really explain yet, and with a LOT more satisfying evidence than "I heard my uncle's cousin's friend from college say he once saw..."

A lot of the time it's stuff like... the one I heard about where a person has to pick one of two options, and the result is either nothing or an image. They run the test thousands and thousands and thousands of times with hundreds of different people, and it comes out almost perfectly 50%... but the same test run with a mostly-pornographic image gets people picking the right one 54% of the time with enough recurrence to be significant (something mentioned about the non-linearity of time and a slight sixth-sense leading to more procreation, whatever). yeah its why you repeat experiments, particularly statistical ones, you get false results quite a bit. I remember thinking the pray/random number one was interesting. I heard about it from a professor who was a Christian, I am too but I have a hard time believing God would waste the effort meddling in something so stupid. I would be receptive to the idea that they effected it somehow, that the power of prayer if you will is from the person not God. You could substantiate that idea by finding some kind of energy transfer form the people to the machine. Even if its transmitted by a yet to be discovered energy form, its start point (the people's bodys) and the end point (the machine) should show signs, energy use by the people's metabolism and a temperature increase in the machine
