( Cryptologic Network Warfare Specialist, Cryptologic Linguist, Human Intelligence Collector, ect) and took an MoS in the fucking 12 series, An MoS that only needs a fucking 30 to get into. A 30 is all you need to pass. Why? some retarded feeling of Honor and wanting be "in the thick of it.Get treated like utter shit in basic due to being in a unit made of utter shit. Could have taken the easy road and went through basic with the other Nerds but i chose a retard MoS and got stuck in the fucking chimp unit. Niggers. Niggers everywhere. Antone can become Recon, if they pas the qualification test. However, a gun job would be an easier transition into recon. You could go infantry, grunt, and be a rifleman, machine gunner mortar man, etc. Or you could go combat supoort and be tanks, artillery, or LAAD. I was a stinger gunner/LAAD gunner. We had a couple of guys go recon, but you need to be a hoss. It's no joke. The biggest problem with combat jobs is that they don't translate into the civilian sector, unless you contract overseas. Several of my buudies are doing so. I've turned down 2 jobs in Afghanistan because I want to finish my RN program. If you're going Marine, get really good at pull-ups and running 3+ miles. On average we'd run 20 miles in 4 days, one day at the pool. Pull-ups are your money-maker. My fat ass could knock out 20+ so it helped me out a lot. GET THE GI BILL and then use it, seriously. Save all the cash you can, don't buy a fucking Mustang or a Camaro. Listen to your battle-proven NCOs and they'll teach you right.

I scored a 92 on my AQFT and spent 14 years in the USMC. Started out as a 0311 because I wanted to be in the shit. Went to MART straight out of SOI and then to BRC, got that oh-so coveted 0321. Used TA to earn a dual BA in political science and international financing along with a conversational understanding of Pashto, Farsi, and literary proficiency in Dari. Laterally transferred to 0211 after three pumps to Iraq. EAS'd a few months ago after fourteen years.

For a supposedly brainwashed, mindless corporate minion, I like to think I did alright for myself.

Indeed. My Battalion augmented the Army's 2nd BCT of 1st Cav, so there was a lot of 'fancy' shit, but we still had to up-armor our humvees with our own funds. Some of us even welded sheet metal onto the doors and along the bottom. Felt like we were fighting in a completely different century compared to today.

I only went to Falujah once in 2005. We were doing a convoy security mission from Al Asad to Ramadi and back. Got the job to push on to Falujah one night. Buddy of mine was a comm Marine attached to EOD in Falujah of 2004. Says it was no joke.

Fucking hell, these demons. I was the "bomb-boy" for our convoys. I found a couple of IEDs, never any of these though. No shit, these things would fuck up an up-armored door, if close enough. Supposedly, much of the velocity was lost after a few meters.

I won't embellish. I was tasked with the units surrounding the city, I wasn't in the thick of it like 3/5. We did a lot of battlespace shaping during the operation but there wasn't a lot of room-clearing for me. It wasn't a joke for sure, though.
