Why does taking psychedelics do that to most of the people I know? Including myself (mainly), since I took 25i, LSD, shrooms, salvia and mdma in the last few months, I have openned a totally new way of seeing everything. Its weird because people would think that I am too self centered but, according to me, its only everyone else who makes the choice of living under a rock.

This happens because what conservatism is conserving is The Narrow Way, of tradition. But what your brain is capable of considering is much more, a lot more, entire vast, sweeping fields of possibility, rather than that narrow path.

It takes intense conditioning and focus to maintain the narrow view limited to that path. I'm 30, haven't done mushrooms, LSD, or anything like it, and I think of myself as fully aware of reality.

I might try them someday, but frankly, I'm scared to at the moment, because of my life situation. My mind might be really fragile, and I don't want to screw it up. I might not try them till I'm 50 or so, because there's a lot of important stuff I need to do in life, and I don't want to risk anything.

Glad you guys are enjoying them though. If I see some kind of super-genius come out of drug use, maybe I'll change my mind. :)

Thanks for your input. I know that my post would bother a lot of people. :) I mean, it's ironic, because my mind was really blown when I tried alcohol for the first time (age 20, vodka, at party). And it was blown again with pot (a few months later). (And I've even done salvia, though that wasn't too mind-blowing to me.) But anyway, I definitely feel my understanding of myself was significantly changed by those, and would recommend them to anyone. So I understand how that is. But still, I'm scared to go further, and I feel like I know enough about drugs that anything more wouldn't significantly change my understanding. And I was never curious about drugs in the first place (including alcohol)-- it was only years of severe depression that made me try it. So yeah, it's a paradox... and I'm now bothering people with it. :)
