I honestly think movies are a better place to start since they're a condensed story and you're not going to be forced to watch 12-25/50 episodes for closure.

JoJo's is also an amazing series to start with honestly. Part 1 is like 6 or 7 episodes and then it continues right into Part 2, then if you're still invested and interested you can go into part 3 which is 2 seasons.

Anytime I see someone recommend EVA to someone who's super new to Anime I die a little. EVA is the single most over hyped, boring fucking thing ever. He won't even make it halfway, let alone to any of the stuff worth watching.
