Written by a Russian man that goes by the name of Dmitri Shostakovich. It was written in 1954 in three days (mind you three days of absolute hell). It was most popularly shown in the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.

The Unanswered Question (1908)
By Charles Ives, considered to be one of the first (if not the first) modernist american composers. He sold insurance for a living.
Contains pre second viennese school implications of atonality overtop a very slow and quiet American folk hymn. Very innovative for the time.

Percussion major here.
My recent favorite has been Wine-Dark Sea, by John Mackey. Fucking love his composing.

Started horn at age 12 as my first instrument. My cc doesn't have a wind ensemble so I'm left to my own private practice. I'm trying to find good technical exercises online to keep my chops up.
>>611774449
I have some pictures from an old concert band work book that isn't in print anymore.
I think they can help you with technique.
Keep this thread alive, I'll post them for you
