Eh, if it's bigger than the usual insect I'm not worried about it. Tiny things tend to survive by being really, REALLY nasty though, and if they're in my house all the safeties come off the shoes. Stuff like snakes I'd just stay away from until I can identify them... unless they rear up and hiss at me, and then they get a running lawnmower dropped on their heads. Being friendly and courteous to animals is just fine until they start invading your territory
