I don't know about this "4chan boogeyman" you speak of, but I'm voting for Jar Jar because he's actually a good character. Phantom Menace had many problems but Jar Jar isn't even at the top of the list. Jar Jar was a versatile character, more so than any in the series. He was used in comedy scenes, military action scenes, emotional character developing scenes, political intrigue, every other character was a simply archetype or one dimensional nothing.

This is Madness is pointless! People are using voting scripts (I've seen them for example in 4chan) to vote for their favorite characters (in reality, to vote against new heroes or female characters). Look how %'s changed in past few hours: Gunray had 3%, and then got to the lead with more than 30%! Ahsoka had 51% and Luke 44%, but then Luke got 55% and Ahsoka went down to 42%. Sabine was winning, but then Wedge was script-voted and is winning with 44% (he was below 30%). This is pointless, there is no value in our votes since people can put on scripts that will vote for them. StarWars.com was also lagging under those attacks, and I'm sure it would be easy for StarWars.com team to determine from which IP they happened (to delete them). I think voting should be limited: one vote per one Disney account, or at least per IP adress, because now the whole idea of choosing favorite characters has no meaning.
