Steely Dan Aja
Peg, but the whole thing's great
Queen II -- Ogre Battle
>>604821517
I once read Paranoid was writing in in the studio in an hour so they could have another song on the album.
The Byrds - The Notorious Byrd Brothers
Song: Wasn't Born to Follow
>>604821517

Bury Me in Smoke if I had to choose one.
>>604821517
Dude, War Pigs is the best song on that album.
agreed
>>604821517
>best album ever made
>implying any album is the best
You best hope there aren't any /mu/tants who are happening to lurk be, they'll bully your shit OP.
In '87, Huey released this. Fore, his most accomplished album.

>be
Woah, what the fuck am I doing with my life
>>604821517
Well you've beaten me to it.
Although it's hard to pick a favourite song, they're all fantastic.
>>604823483
met Bruce Dickenson yesterday, no joking...he's not a well man
porcupine tree - deadwing - arriving somewhere but not here
>>604823483
I bought that album when it came out, and never listened to side two after Run to the Hills, (wasn't a big fan at the time). So I heard Hallowed by the Name for the first time last year.
>>604823681
Im jealous as fuck! Whats the matter with him?
It was Steve Harris' birthday a couple days ago.
>>604822866
Yeah, they had done the rest of the album, and they still had some space left. So they came up with Paranoid and finished it in one hour, and it turned out to be their biggest hit.
Originally the album was gonna be called War Pigs, hence the album cover, but they were made to change it.
>>604823862
The best song on the album by far I think. One of Maiden's best ever I think.
>>604823299
According to me ofc.
>>604823942
cancer
>>604823942
he'd just had surgery/kemo for throat cancer...has aged him 20 years (+ a tash)
People Are People
>>604824099
Nothing beats the Live-Version of the "Live After Death" LP.
>>604824099
I prepped for the Maiden in England tour last year by brushing up on the setlist, and that's how i found the hidden (to me) gem. Great show btw...
>>604824168
Oh that sucks! and throat cancer too?!? Talk about fucked up!
Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom
Alifib
>>604821517
Little Wing and Castles Made of Sand because I can't decide
Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
Best song: Dopethrone
15 years on, still the heaviest album ever recorded in my opinion.
>>604824501
he's still working his balls off though, and recording a new album, but I guess it will be delayed a bit
Fear Factory - Demanufacture
Song: Self Bias Resistor
It's metal, op.
>>604824420
Especially with Churchill's speech included. I saw that show. It was fucking awesome! Course I was tripping the first time I saw it. Went sober the second time - mighta been better that time
Fantasia 2000
Track 4: Piano Concerto N°2 In F Major; I. Allegro, Opus 102 (Performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; James Levine conducting.)
Composed by Dmitri Shostakovich
>>604824441
I missed last year. There was only one show around here if I remember correctly.
>>604824573
ma nigga
>>604824589
>15 years on
Holy fuck... I just listened to that album for the first time like a week ago. This is weird.
>>604821517
02:05
It begins
>>604824589
I love EW, but this is much heavier.
Eyehategod - In The Name Of Suffering
best song: Depress
>>604824624
how do you sing with throat cancer?!? the dude is a beast!
It wasThriller,dumbasses.
http://youtu.be/ap-UzhPo8CI?list=PLYYHjo7xYmk_AZzmwAkJUu-e_Fhcf_Qx3
ITT: /mu/ rejects
>>604824763
Shit I'm jealous! Only saw them once in 2010, and it was realy a great show, one of the best I've been at. Even tho I was sober that time, just turned 15 and had to go with my mum because under-16
Dance little liar
>>604821517
>>604823113
>>604823483
>>604824589
>mah niggas
I myself love Siouxsie and the Banshees. My favorite song is probably Suburban Relapse.
Over the hills and far away
>>604825124
and fucking proud of it
>>604825144
I a crunchy old fuck. The first Maiden show I saw was number of the beast. I've seen 7 tours. Love those guys!
Went to the first 10 ozzfests too :)
>>604825341
MODS MODS
;)
>>604824761
Too much metal for me tho.
Pantera's FBD. Pretty hard to choose an all-time favorite but Use my third arm really get's me in all kinds of moods.
>Walk through walls mode
He Is Legend - It Hates You
Mean Shadows
>>604825016
Well, we'll have to agree to disagree
Pantera - Cowboys from Hell
Cemetery Gates
>>604825341
Great album and great song but my fav would be The Rain Song
>>604825124
Well, we say they listen to shit, and they say we listen to shit.
>>604825449
Get fucked.
>>604825479
>I fucked your girlfriend last night
System of a Down - Steal this album
Song: Innervision
>>604825704
>>604825692
>mfw death grips
>>604821517
The answer to both questions is Lateralus.
>>604821517
Rick Astley - Whenever You Need Somebody
Best song, Never Gonna Give You Up
Om - Pilgrimage
Best Song: Bhima's Theme
Strangest form of metal there is. Heavy as fuck though. No guitar, just heavily distorted bass, drums and vocals.
>>604825397
I had a ticket to the 1985 World Slavery tour, but didn't end up going because I was laid up in the dorm with a girl. (like I said, I wasn't the biggest fan at the time) Saw Ozzy/motley in '84 and Dio/dokken in '85.
>>604825397
Nice! I was on 2 Wacken Open Airs and some other more or less big festivals here.
They don't tour that often in Germany, and when they do it's pretty far away from where I live. Over all there are not many concerts in the nearer distance, I have to go at least 100km for some more-known Bands. So I keep supporting the underground here most of the time. But I'm going to move soon to a bigger City, so more concerts for me
>>604825974
Well, that was my favourite album when I was like 8
>>604825475
No problemo hombre, but you wouldn't believe how much this piece of fucking noise means to me.
thanks for trying tho
can someone tell me how the fuck you can love a whole album? every song is so unique and you love it for it's own merits, the chances of getting more than one of those on one album is miniscule
get on my level plebs
>>604826598
Fucked that right up
All Time:
Artist: Descendents
Album: Milo Goes to College (1982)
Song: Bikeage
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7WanzlOvGg&hd=1 [Embed]
Current:
Artist: Johnny Hobo and The Freight Trains
Album: Love songs for the apocalypse
Song: Parking Lot Harmony
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxihL9JPqWc&hd=1
>>604826518
So you're like 19
>>604826797
Most albums have their "meh" tracks but there are the somewhat rare ones that are just fucking perfect. For me, anyway.
>>604821517
Tool - Salival
Song: Pushit
The entire album is fantastic, but this specific song give me chills.
>>604826598
The only thing Milo Aukerman is missing is a fucking fedora.
I like that album, but don't tell me the song "marriage" isn't the most desperate sounding song ever.
>>604821517
Pink Floyd/Wish You Were Here/Shine On You Crazy Diamond (full length put together)
musical perfection.
>>604827076
will never understand that, i like maximum 3 tracks from one artist, the chances of one artist hitting that subjective, visceral level more than once is absolutely tiny
although to break from /b/ tradition i respect your opinion and can see where you're coming from
>>604826797
that's why when an album comes along that has more than one great song, or is made up entirely of fantastic songs, it's special
>>604823483
Children of The Damned goes 1st for me
>>604823328
dont forget their undisputed masterpiece, hip to be square. It is indeed quite catchy.
>>604826797
Some album just flow so well. I posted the He Is Legend album, but if you listen to their album I Am Hollywood, it all ties in together. Almost like a concept album, but isn't.
But concept albums are also a great way to like a whole album. A story told through the songs themselves. Trainwreck by Boys Night Out being my favourite. Follows the story of a guy slowly losing his sanity after killing his wife in his sleep. Give those albums a go man!
>>604823113
Mah nigga.
>>604825036
They call him "Air Raid Siren" for a reason
>>604822536
HAhaha amazing, I love that album, but Ogre battle is my least favorite song on that album
>>604827404
I think it's just typical teenage angst, how you want some bitch but she thinks you're just after her taint. she doesn't see your looking to stick with it.
But then again, even Milo acknowledges the immaturity of the lyrics in this album. But being a stupid kid is fun.
>>604826797
some albums are made up entirely of just one song
Meddle.
you know which fuckin song.
>>604826170
>>604825974
Lateralus is actually my favorite album of all time (though Tool isn't among my favorite bands).
Steal This Album is pretty fuckin great too
Also pic related is among another one of the best ever, imo. Hard to chose between this and Badmotorfinger
>>604828295
lol i remember this
Artist: Black Flag
Album: My War
Song: Can't Decide
(I recommend all the songs on the album overall)
>>604828249
I'm not knocking that but I mean, come on. You can feel the desperation.
The guy should've just fucked those fish while listening to his Doors & Beatles tapes and called it a day.
>>604828555
Trips?
YOU'RE ONE OF THEM
THEM
THEEAAAAMMM
Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mlpl-RzsCck
Well, I like it.
>>604828617
Totally agree with you, yeah.
>>604828555
Shit between this and Slip It In I could get hyped for days
Angel Dust - Faith No More
Favorite song- Caffeine
Clutch self titled
Song: Escape from the Prison Planet.
Octopus
>>604828905
Everything after Slip It In fucking sucked. It's like Greg Ginn wanted to get weird and jazzy with it. I like jazzy music but it just didn't work for them. I remember hearing "The Process of Weeding Out" one time and never wanting to hear it again.
>>604823113
mah nigga
if you havent already checked them out, then look up crowbar, it's the guitarists other band and lemme tell you is heavy as fuckin shit man
>>604827824
good choice. good choice. I love how they tell a story with their music. not like the pop shit that passes as music on the radio
damn this is a great thread thanks op im baked as fuck and discovering all kinds of new bands
>>604828993
>>604826797
Here's the album you're looking for, every song is great and flows well. You'll have the same pleasure with Elephant Riders.
Budgie - Never Turn Your Back On A Friend
Best Song - In The Grip Of A Tyrefitter's Hand
>>604826466
The '84 show, was that bark at the moon? that was a good show.
Soilwork - Figure Number Five
Song - Distortion Sleep
Forever my favorite album nothing comes close
Dan Auerbach- Keep it Hid
Best song: When I Left the Room
https://youtu.be/7j9Y0IUk5-M
>>604827553
I agree, not a single weak moment, not even for a second. The perfect studio album
>>604828376
seamus?
>>604826508
nothing wrong with local bands. always try to support local music. I used to play bass in a metal band. we werent that good but it was fun as shit.
>>604830287
Other option would be Pink Floyd- The Wall
Best song: Comfortably Numb or the Trial
>>604827553
best dammned show I ever saw was pink floyd. the sound the theatrics the lights the lasers holy shit they put on a show.
Most boring - Rush. Sorry canada
>>604823483
>not posting Somewhere In Time
>>604828295
Indeed they are
Jenny Death - Death Grips
Track : On GP
>>604825109
My nigga - I was just gonna post why nobody ever says Thriller or Michael Jackson in general
>>604823485
>mfw when Sid is praised for absolutely no reason whatsoever
Blue Cheer - Vincebus Eruptum
Best Song - Doctor Please
>>604830538
I do support the Underground. I move because I will go to University.
Here's the probably most know of our local Bands, Fuck You And Die
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVPgA_6dHxc
>>604828993
>>604829845
Clutch! You guys...
>>604830523
of course
>>604830879
good plan :) Ill give you this one though :)
Dead meadow - Old growth
What Needs Must Be
Battle Hymns - Battle Hymn
>>604827553
My nigger
>>604824589
same but Funeralopolis is my fav song off that album.
>>604828909
Ma nigga.
Here's mine.
Can't really decide.
For best album i'd pick Master of puppets by Metallica
For best song Shine on you crazy diamond by Pink Floyd.
>inb4 are you 14?
>>604831078
Thats preety good shit. The guitar reminds me of DragonForce.
>>604832112
Master of puppets is a good choice. One of the last good Metallica albums - before they sold out and stopped keeping it real
>>604832112
Well, I don't listen to Metallica anymore, but I thought they never really topped Kill 'Em All
>>604832026
Love Mr. Bungle, nice!
>>604821517
Kidz bop
Gotta love Leviathan.
Song: Blood and Thunder, but Megalodon is a close second.
>>604832026
Overrated.
>>604832691
so underrated
Animals
Dogs.
Low, down, dirty
>>604832471
>>604832463
>>604832112
If you ask me, Cliff dying was the end of Metallica's greatness. But Newsted is an incredible bassist. Shame that they drowned out much of the bass in the final cut of ...And Justice for All.
>>604832463
Yes. I also consider and justice for all a very nice album. It was still thrash.
After that they went downhill.
>>604833136
its not even the loss of his bass style it was his attitude. he kept the band in check and focused on the music.
here's a great metal album
Fav song - Blood of the Kings
>>604828632
Thank you for sharing, great album
>inb4 we reminisce about when Metallica was a good ol fashioned garage band that did speedy, the ashy stuff
>>604833759
*thrashy stuff
>>604832754
mah fuckin nigga
Mastodon - Crack the Skye
Song: The Czar
or Oblivion
or Divinations
or Quintessence
or Ghost of Karelia
or Crack the Skye
or The Last Baron
the whole album is essentially one song cuz it flows directly into the next song so I'm gonna go with the whole album, final answer.
>>604833041
Not my fav. album, for me it's Dark side of the moon.
favorite song on animals = Pigs (Three Different Ones)
gimme danger
what a fucking record.
>>604824292
mah nigga
I choose Blasphemous Rumors.
>>604833136
The videos, covers, fame, and the whole napster thing killed them. They became nothing but mainstream after Ride the Lightning. Shame, they were good when they were hungry
>>604832838
PLEB DETECTED PLEB DETECTED PLEB DETECTED
>>604833759
Sad but true! see what I did there? :)
>>604834005
The whole album just has a great energy, pigs is fantastic song but dogs feels like a real journey of a song, like Echoes or Shine on, or
Atom Heart. dark side is a fantastic journey of an album but it needed a whole album to do it, i think animals is the best cohesive album that still has amazing singular songs.
>>604821517
" You're having a good time baby, but that won't last"! Absolutely the best song on Paranoid, OP, good job.
>>604834006
That's a great album. Have you ever heard of the band "Death"? Not the metal band, but they're like protopunk stuff. It's really great in my opinion.
>>604835019
You ever listen to Sabotage? For some reason that album always gets forgotten by a lot of people. It's not a perfect album but it's really damn good.
>>604835019
>604835019
man i always forget ozzy was young once
>>604833526
That too, they definitely handled it wrong when they got Jason on board.
>>604834015
Absolutely, they were so much better when it was about the music. It stopped being about the music though, and they just wanted money after ...And Justice. Thank Lars for that shit though. He was the cause of their mainstream bullshit.
>>604821517
>>604823485
>>604824573
>>604825196
>>604825341
>>604827553
>>604828376
>>604828555
>>604829160
>>604830738
>>604831458
>>604833041
>>604834006
my niggas
im not sure about mine, but at the moment i think i'd say the raconteurs' consolers of the lonely as the album and the switch and the spur as the song
>>604835019
Let me see your fucking hands! I love you all!
>>604835329
It's definitely the least celebrated of The First Six. Symptom of the Universe is possibly the first prog metal song.
>>604835911
I completely agree. I've heard some of their other stuff but nothing compares to their first six.
>>604835581
right on dude. right on
>>604831922
>Funeralopolis
yes, yes...
>>604835669
Raconteurs are alright. How about the Black Keys? They're my favorite band by a mile right now.
Iron Man
>>604834006
Fun House is were its at man. I love this so much. I even have it on vinyl. Either Loose or Fun House, hard to say a favorite.
>>604836335
I haven't listened to much Metallica in the last couple of years. Think I might tonight after talking about them again.
Kid Gloves
>>604836972
MY FUCKING NIIGA
>>604836961
Not the guy you replied to, but I often turn on 2 hour concerts of theirs from when they perform at festivals - it's really relaxing
>>604836961
Death Magnetic was them trying to go back to their thrash roots. It's not bad.
>>604836951
tv eye muhfuck
Love you to death or die with me, btu the entire album is really good
>>604837172
I listen to that album sometimes, even though it kinda pains me, but WHAT DON'T KILL YA, MAKE YA MORE STRONG
>>604821517
October Rust is a great album. Love You to Death is god-tier.
>>604836961
just make sure its the old shit
>>604837610
william?
>>604837434
that is some good shit! October rust and bloody kisses are two of my favorites!
>>604837434
Holy shit. We just posted at the same time, kek.
>>604837831
Nope. Just a fellow ToN fan.
>>604837972
Haha, u have nice taste mate
lol /b/'s music taste
Same album, war pigs
>>604830523
that's the dog, right?
Band: Solipsist
Album: The Human Equation
Song: Tainted with Blood
>>604837163
>>604837172
>>604837677
Taking all of this advice. Mostly liked their old shit, but I did hear good things about Death Magnetic, so I'll have to give it a listen. And they were pretty good live.
Band: Ladytron
Album: Witching Hour
Song: The Last One Standing
Not the best ever, but Digital Love is the perfect pop song, from the perfect pop album.
>>604838495
That wasn't very nice tbh. Also the cover looks like these toys I used to have called bionicles
>>604838188
I found this sitting alone at my local music store. Brought back lots of memories and I became an avid ToN listener ever since.
>>604839185
Fucking photo didn't upload.
Burzum - Filosofem
Jesus Tod
>>604839489
My wife-to-be fapped to Christian Woman (she's Jewish) the night Peter Steele died.
>>604839489
Makes me wish I hadn't lost my october rust cd man
Current favorite:
2112 on the album 2112 by Rush
>>604837610
>>604837434
Am I the only one who thought Life Is Killing Me was totally underrated?
>>604839946
I've been looking to trade my vinyl copy of this for something else
>>604839716
I understand her. Would totally go gay for pete if he wasn't six feet under
>>604840004
It's good but except for origin of the feces i think it's probably their weakest album
Send And Receive
Dive is also amazing,
Awake is a fucking joke.
>>604821517
Nazareth: Hair of the Dog
Changin Times.
>>604839946
Great choice. Simply a masterpiece, a work of art more than a song. Besides 2112, my favorite was the Twilight Zone.
I smell a Schaf
>>604840506
Back to /mu/ with you
>>604839946
Rush just released a holographic cover of 2112 on vinyl. Looks sec-sey
>Band : Protest The Hero
>Album - Fortress
>Song - Sequoia Throne
anything by them will do me just fine tho.
clipping- CLPPNG
Favorite song is summer time
>>604840004
Not that many songs on that album jump out to me. World Coming Down is an example where there's a lot of great, interesting songs. with that said, I'll give it another listen tonight.
Band: Mercyful Fate
Album: Don't Break The Oath
Song: Gypsy
>>604821517
This.
>>604840708
you mean story 2
> Green Day
> American Idiot
> Jesus of Suburbia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djelUbjBlkA
Yes, I know; I'm a big ol' faglord. Can't help it, loved the album when it came out and can't think of an album which I enjoy more in it's entirety except, perhaps DSotM by Pink Floyd.
>>604840968
story 2 is indeed a masterpiece and the best song on the album, but not my favorite.
You all lose
>>604839831
Not too certain, but I think at my local store they have October for about $6. I'm going tomorrow to hopefully find it.
ITT: Greasy haired makeup wearing underage faggots.
