Also try getting the blurry middle image stable and then don't try and focus. Just relax (while still holding the middle image) and let the focus come. Don't try and force it to focus.

I found out my eyes could do this when I was like 6 and grounded in a friend's mother's kitchen by staring at the tiled floor like I was told.
Was convinced for months That kitchen was a portal to another dimension that only i could open. i would get myself grounded and chant "come, rise, ground" until it worked.

What helped me was sticking my thumb in front of my face and trying to go from focusing on that to focusing on the middle image. It sort of just clicks after a while. Also adjust the distance from your screen.
