Yeah, that realization was great. I went to the first encounter skipping through most of the text, then went on to the next creature. After I stopped and actually read some of the conversation between the player and Alipheese, I went right back to the start and actually properly played it. I actually tried my best to avoid losses that whole run, great fun. Had to reload some saves for it at times, but still.
(I was actually moved a few times during the story....go figure.)

You're welcome. I didn't play the first twos, so I can't really tell from experience. But as far as I heard from Japanese websites and/or reviews, the first was a bit too much of a sketchy mess. Second one is the best based on most people words. Third is *okay*, better than first, 'lesser' than second. And a fourth is coming, they're actually developing it since some months and it should be out really soon.
Overall, it's like MGQ; really good scenes, nice drawings stuff, story is a bit cliché but nice nonetheless. Definitely a really good series from anything i've seen/heard.
