Did some interesting work with tumeric last year. I had a rat with breast cancer, after feeding her on tumeric and a mix of wholegrains and squalene I found her tumour began to shrink, she became active again and seemed to be much more comfortable. However, after shrinking 30% she seemed to degrade quickly and passed away. It is a shame because I thought I had something.
>>
>>600485716

Have you heard of organs on a chip? We could use them to study each of our organs in isolation, as well as connected to one another to emulate the entire body.

We could set up entire artificial 'bodies,' and dose them with all sorts of things. By setting up huge numbers of these bodies, as in millions or billions, we could do enormous numbers of experiments all at once.

I think in a single year, or even a few months, we could have it all figured out.

Now my body.... it is aging. I am taking supplements to lengthen my telemeres at risk of destabilizing my genes which I am countering with colloidal gold acting as RNA carriers, easing the pressure off the natural system. So what next. I have a whole backyard of organic tumeric, this article reminded me about this. Might have to incorporate this into my diet.

>>600487312

>Any suggestions?

I don't feel like I can give them. To me, it seems foolish to experiment on yourself. The TERT you're using to enlongate your telomeres is going to cause your cells to return to an 'earlier' time in their 'genetic script,' which means it'll make you more like you were when you were younger.

Genetic material has probably ablated from many, but not all of your cells. In the cells where this genetic material has ablated, the information simply isn't there to tell the cells to be young again. The cells that still contain the information will likely begin to divide as if they were 'playing out' an earlier part of the 'genetic script.' This could be bad, because it might make them grow things they shouldn't, like entire bits of people.

In the rar, the text entitled 'Engrams and action potentials' explains how 'you' are within the genetic material of your neurons. I would suggest doing everything in your power to keep those healthy and alive, even at the expense of the rest of your body.

Really, your body is already very good at keeping itself going. It's already been doing it for a number of years. The 'intelligence' within each of your cells is very wise indeed.

So in the end, I would say you should stick to time-tested methods. The Mediterranean diet seems to be best.

Im not so sure about that. Telemeres afterall is just a cluster of junk DNA inplace to protect the wearing of the DNA strand itself.
>>
>>600488512
Not really, it's just a way to point out that life is what's going on while you are busy trying to optimize it. Just live and be happy and make the best of a suboptimal solution - you will not be able to maximize life anyway since you can die at any point.
>>
>>600489392

Well, there's the thing that has thrown me for a loop, personally. There are so many interactions on so many levels, that you have to take enormous numbers of 'data points' into consideration at every single step.

Somehow, cells do this. I think the reason we die is because they make mistakes. A lot of people have presented these ideas before while being absolutely sure of themselves, and the intelligence of genetic material.

I think it can make mistakes. The best thing to do is take a step back and look at absolutely everything. Information has to flow as freely as possible, with absolutely nothing in it's way.

The human brain is the most complicated machine on the planet. Other humans are building thinking machines, and I hope those work out for us. But I think if we harness all 7 billion brains on Earth, get them to look at as many things as possible all at once, and get them to distribute the information to one another with absolutely no restrictions, we could marathon the every possible combination of 'genetic material,' catalog it all, have everyone modify themselves exactly as they see fit, shake hands, and fly away from as 'gods' to fertilize new worlds.

I won't pretend for a minute to know as much about this stuff as you. You're exactly the kind of person I need to run these ideas passed.

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, please explain where I made the mistake. I'm trying to pin down reality.

>>600491436

We might be able to enhance intelligence with gene therapy.
>>
>>600491407

>Currently, genetic engineering is all about 'synthetic biology.' The exciting future of genetic engineering is in constructing artificial organisms. The ways in which you can modify an organism are numerous. Starting with an 'empty' cell, or in other words one with zero chromosomes, you can keep adding chromosomes. This adds 'genetic material,' and the sky seems to be the limit - Oxytricha trifallax has 16,000. This doesn't mean that every chromosome in existence on Earth has the same amount of 'genetic material.' Not even in the same organism. In fact, it's best to imagine every chromosome as a constantly changing, polymorphous object.

This is a fairly outdated view on genetic engineering though. Also, in reality, we very very rarely insert full chromosomes into vector cells. Unless we are looking at the epigenetic effect of mutated chromosomes etc.

Also im guessing by "gene guns" hes referring to reterovirus genetic insertion of DNA (usually a plasmid vector with mutated gene of interest) into cell.

But besides that (haven't read engram.txt yet) most of this shit is pretty accurate from a biochemical point of view.

I've been calling myself a transhumanist since I was about 10 years old. I used to be a Communist of sorts, until I got this crazy idea in my head that I could make wealth from nothing with my intelligence, which led to me thinking that I could figure out a way of making everyone so wealthy that no one would *have* to share with anyone else.

And not only that, but if I could find a way to make everyone else as smart as I thought I was, they would realize the same thing. At that point, they would start making wealth themselves and all of us would be so wealthy that we could stop keeping tabs.

I'm more friendly towards the concept than ever before.

I re-read it a couple of times. I think your talking about curcumins epigenetic effect on the alleles of the mTOR gene.
http://molpharm.aspetjournals.org/content/79/1/106.full
Shows Curcumin effects only that ACC, but they didn't test for other effects it might have had besides mTOR/nf-kb pathway repression. So saying no negative results is kindof out there.
But looking over what you actually wrote, i am just being kindof nit picky over the science.
Main thing i would suggest is including references and citations to papers your getting experiments from so people can make own conclusions about results of said experiments if they feel the need?

Guys I read /x/ and even they aren't this retarded.
>>
>>600491173
I just skimmed the text at the wiki, but to me it seems like people are mixing up quantum physics with Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. That is, one argument for not having free will is that since we can measure the electron pathway in our mind, we should be able to predict how it will be from various stimuli; if we can predict it then we cannot have free will. What Heisenberg states is that we cannot fully measure an electron and thus we cannot predict the outcome (other than from statistics on typical behavior in humans). This, in it self, does not prove free will, but it open up the possibility for it.
Another thing that people tend to forget when it comes to thinking of the brain as a meat computer is that there is such thing as feedback - the brain is not only reacting on stimuli from our senses, it can also alter the body chemistry to change the sensory input. We might be creatures with a tendency to behave in predictable patterns, but we do have the possibility to change those patterns if we want to.

I've been a transhumanist for a long time but found out this branch of H+ only in recent years. My idea of human evolution is to merge with synthetic forms, to use neural implants, nanotechnology, claytronics, so everyone can become his or her own god.

Our goal as species should be to rise to our eden, and to terraform, populate and protect all life in the universe. If there are people who refuse to accept technology, offer them place where they too can find their own meaning through their fragile biologic bodies, to still have access to best protective and medical instruments to date.

Everyone should be free to decide his own fate. Technology can make it possible.
>>
>>600495195
The machine needs energy to run. Energy is represented here as money. To make a man work an hour, to power an electric generator, these require inputs, you can't just think it or feel it really hard or direct all your smarty vibes on it. Oil must burn to power a machine. Forests must be sequestered. In all honesty you're thinking too human.
>>
>>600493671
>a way of making everyone so wealthy that no one would *have* to share with anyone else.
Remember that the planet has a limited set of resources; the only way your idea would work would be through socialistic/communistic ideals where everyone is given an equal share of the resources. As long as some people hog a majority of the resources, the only way to gain enough wealth for everyone is to force those who hog resources to share.

Yes, it's true that you cannot measure the state of a particle without affecting it, but that's not what I meant. What I meant was, it doesn't really mean anything when one say that one measures the "quantum energy" before and after death. There is no such specific thing in the body which is linked to the soul or the consciousness; they have to have measured something specific, such as the electron current in the brain or spin direction of specific particles in the neural network or what not. And whatever it was they measured, it's not like it's surprising that parts of the body continue to function for a person of time after death; we are, after all, an complex of billions of small living things which together creates a larger organism. Just because the large organism dies doesn't mean that all cells dies immediately, they will continue to carry out their duty in the body until they run out of energy and oxygen.
