I hate to break the fantasy for everyone, but I'm about to stop replying and I want to get things cleared up before I stop as I'll still be reading and hoping for some excellent discussion.

Joining the IRA is not the solution to unifying Ireland.

The IRA, PIRA, RIRA etc are irrelevant organisations that just want to blow shit up. If you want to secede from the union then you have to do it democratically. Win the hearts and minds of the people of NI and run a referendum like Scotland did. Only then can you actually stand a chance of seceding.

The IRA used to operate by killing my kinsmen. That is, English people who have nothing to do with the conflict.

Personally, as an Englishman with Irish ancestry I'd like to see Ireland unified as either one country or as part of the United Kingdom. The treaty in 1922 didn't really make anyone happy.

I like Ireland and would consider living there in the future if the opportunity were to arise.
