Depends on whether or not you're referring to the kneejerk (somewhat justified) reddit hate, or the calculated (actually justified) reddit's fundamental structure sucks hate.

Reddit's setup is actually awesome. It is well organized and user friendly. The users are the problem. There is a libtard voting brigade that goes from subreddit to subreddit pushing their bullshit agenda. That's why it sucks.

Except for the bit where the voting algorithm still (I believe) has a fatal flaw meaning it behaves completely backwards for low vote posts.
And the bit where they ban people quite frequently for "self promotion" even when the community reaction is highly positive. And this is for some illogical reason a global thing instead of at a subreddit's discretion.
And the bit where they abuse shadowbans against "self promoters" that are designed for use against bots.
And the bit where all sorts of things result in karma whoring (although this is hardly a problem unique to Reddit).
And the bit where the result of upboats and downvotes is that any dissenting opinion is send straight to the pits of hell and never seen again.
I like a lot of things about the site and use it a lot, but it has it's fair share of issues. You could argue a lot of these aren't strictly related to the design and you wouldn't be wrong but they are heavily ingrained in the structure of the place.

All of that's true, but doesn't seem to apply to a certain voting block. Not to mention that most moderators of the more popular subs are part of this block and shamelessly admit to their bias if asked. It is a huge Liberal circlejerk these days. It was better in the past but is completely shit now.
Inb4 someone posts a back to the future style pic!!!

That's definitely a problem too I agree.
