I used to be into anime when i was younger, but its so fucking slowpaced to the point where i just stopped watching most of the shows ive been watching for 600 episodes.

This is how the average anime goes: Meet the main enemy, have a 5 minute stareoff, finally start fighting, then they stop to have a 5 minute conversation, fight some more, then a 5 minute stareoff with music playing in the background until the episode ends

I think thats the advantage of comics and normal cartoons, they dont try to fit 1 tiny chapter into a 20-30 minute episode.

I just started watching One Piece myself, thought it was kid's stuff until my friend put it on one night and was impressed.
You really want to start at the beginning. It sucks and it's pretty boring, those first few small arcs, but you'll get hooked by the 30th episode or so.
And then you have like 600+ to keep you entertained for the next few years.
