Not quite mate. It doesn't break the rules for covalent bonding. Hexacoordinate xenon has sp3d2 electron config, which is fine. You can also form xenon tetroxide, which also contains Xe(VIII), which is a higher oxidation state of xenon than in XeF6. As for IF7, you also get the IO4 anion (periodate) which is a very common oxidant in organic chemistry. Both of these contain I(VII).

I know most people have the strength to hold iron, but my point is that though metals like tungsten have durability or titanium with it being very light and flexible they come off as almost useless when used as a sword. Tungsten is durable but is heavier that iron and it is more brittle. Titanium may be faster and light that iron when swung, but its flexibility make it like a kitchen knife.

TL;DR In the aspect of creating swords with these metals Tungsten,Cobalt, and Titanium are too unbalanced to make a very useable sword, like a katana, so Iron/spring steel are superior.
