I have a question for the European Citizens of 4Chan.

What do you vote for the EU Election, and why? And where are you from?
>>

>>
I'm from Romania and I have absolutely no idea. I'll document myself a few days before voting.
>>
Im from the Netherlands and im gonna vote for the PVV (Partij Voor de Vrijheid/Freedom Party).

I vote for the PVV because i dont like the idea that the richer countries like the Netherlands and Germany are paying for lazy scum in the south of Europa.
>>

why

if you speak German, use the wahlomat

Partido X. Spain.
It's got Falciani (the one who gave lists of hidden bank accounts) and Burillo (ex-taxer inspector who got kicked by the same politicians he was investigating) in there. Basically, it's an anti-corruption focused party.

Would vote for a party that is aginst corruption and not extremistic. 1 because thats a big problem in Europe (ACTA, VEOLIA, ...) and 2 because I like the european thought and extremistic partys want to bulldoze the current state as it is.(Thats why they are called extremistic)

German, not sure yet, either Pirate party or CSU. Green is also possible

The Austrian voting machine says, I should vote for the Green Party or "Europa anders", a fusion of our Communists Party, the Pirate Party and another small party.

Netherlands

PVV, Artikel 50 or Pirate Party. These are the only parties that are critical of EU policy and put the rights of Dutch citizens above increasing the power of the EU. All other parties are Eurocratic scum who are selling our country in order to be what we call "the best boy in class".

The EU could work for us if our political class wasn't so eager about signing away liberties while the people receive nothing in return.

In short, the EU has done nothing for us. I want their power to be curtailed as much as possible. My vote'll probably go to the PVV, because many people will vote for them.

How is life knowing that you an your family are at the bottom of the social ladder?

If we left the EU, we would lose thousands of jobs here in Britain, just one Nissan factory in Sunderland hires over 40,000 Brits, what do you think they will do, when they have to pay the export charge out of Britain, and the import charge into other European countries?
How can you justify voting for a party that fails to recognise the need to develop renewable energies, Britain will be left behind, unadvanced and on a depleting source of energy.
Nice job shit stain.

Go to the Latin Mediterranean Free-trade zones on sex holidays rather than Thailand and the Philippines, obviously. It is always in the stronger parties interest to cut off dead weight. And 70% of Europe is past the rotting stage.

Let Russia have their fucked up post Soviet eastern zone to fuck with as they please, who gives a fuck. It's not like Eastern Europe is actually providing any sort of economic or cultural input to the EU, they are a black hole which Germany keeps feeding to stave off instability.

Bottom of the social ladder? We are all firmly middle class thankfully.

That is a good point about import charges to Europe. But can we not form our own trade links? Without the strangle hold of European laws the UK can actually start competing with Europe.

Failure to develop renewable energies? How about not wasting money on an inefficient means of power when we should be investing in nuclear.

Shit stain? For wanting to save my country?

Fine. I am a shit stain then. I am proud to be.
>>
>>546396076
Hang yourself before election day, okay? Okay.
You are basically planning on voting for a party catering to the Turks and every minority imaginable, while wanting the EU to outlaw everything that doesn't fit into their idea of what's good for the people.
If you are that much against deciding things for yourself, how about not voting?
>>
>>546398724
Yap German Greens got a bit old an boring. Could use some new ideas.
>>
>>546398418

It's not really the policy but the racism of the voters, although seeing UKIP politicians talk about science doesn't make them look educated at all.

The party doesn't matter, I don't like the racism of the people.
I'd like to be able to walk around the place I grew up (which is quite scenically nice but has the worst community) without being attacked. They'll attack anyone that looks out of place if they are unlucky, but they are definitely extremely racist.

There's a lot of very nice places in the UK, that's why I'd prefer to stay here.

Also like I said, I like the EU.

We could form our own trade links, or we could carry on trading with whom we already trade.
Nuclear is good for about 80 years, so would it not be best to try and develop better energy technologies, for example hybrid housing, fit as many houses with solar pannels that feed into the national grid, cutting down energy prices, and dependence on fossil fuels.
Also, patriotism isn't by bag. It makes no sense to be proud of where you've been pushed out of a vagina, fair enough trying to make the best of where you live, but being proud of the chance that you were born in Britain, doesn't make much sense.

Coal plants emit more radiation than nuclear power plants.
And yes, it is expensive at first, but output to cost ratio is better than anything else we have. With our modern technology, even Chernobyl would no longer be such a disaster.
Nuclear power is not nearly as bad for the environment as you are made to believe.

Fun fact: They are working on extracting radioactive material from the ashes of coal plants, because they contain way more Uranium than Uranium ore. Same goes for a number of other radioactive materials.

Solar panels? So you want to replace dependence on fossil fuels by dependence on rare earths? That's basically saying "hey, I don't want to pay Arabs anymore, lets pay Chinese". And that's your solution? You still wonder why this isn't to be taken serious?
At least the UK, Germany and plenty of other countries have their own radioactive materials.

Presumably we would negotiate an advantageous deal with Nissan so its the same as it is now.
People in Europe will still want to drive Nissan cars if the UK leaves. They will still want to sell parts to the UK to make those cars.

I remember when the pro EU people said we need the EU (and the Euro currency) to guarantee financial stability.
This idea that we need the EU to guarantee trade or jobs is just as flimsy.

Look at the countries outside the EU, they are doing fine in that regard.
Regarding renewable, I think its better to let other richer countreis pour taxpayers money in to them and we should wait for them to become viable before we adopt them. That could be decades off or it may never happen. We should let other idiots use their money to find that out.

Until then we are fortunate to be sitting on enough shale gas, that if you took the lowest estimate and divided that between everyone in the UK its valued at £27,000 per person.

The likelihood is we will have a lot more shale gas than than £27,000 per person.
But we have only surveyed a small part of the country so far.

>Either Dansk Folkeparti or Folkebevægelsen mod EU
>Haven't decided on which yet, probably the latter since it's more niche and more specialised in their votes, compared to DF who are 40% retards
Basically because my entire body combusts with hatred when those two infernal letters are mentioned: Like everyone else said, the immigrant swarm (DF aren't completely assfuck with wanting to put up a border station at the border), as well as the fact that allowing a larger entity to determine what gets patented or not is a slippery slope to taking away what little money the tax doesn't
Also the fact that the arguments FOR the patent court is either "Danish ideas will become big and important just like America :3" or "Nations are outdated we must strive for commu- I mean egalitarianism".
In addendum, I like micromanagement. It serves us, the tiny, wild and uncouth danes, quite well as a smaller state. Pretending to be part of behemoths like EU is just a gateway for the megacorps to take over the last facets of our lives, more so than it is already.
That said, parties like Folkebevægelsen mod EU are a bit utopian in that they "strive for a presence without the EU", i.e. getting out of it all together. It won't happen, we aren't Switzerland or Norway. (however much I wish)
I'll probably end up voting for them regardless of their hopes, because the big badboy politians will have to cater to everyone, and if a bunch of people say "no fuck the EU" they can't blindly rush into passing laws like they've done forever.
Actually I'll vote DF.
Fuck, I don't know.
>Denmark, oddly enough.
>>
>>546400795
I never said replace completely, what I actually said was cut down dependence and form hybrid homes. Meaning, that where possible, use the energy from the sun that is collected through the use of photo-voltaic solar panels. Obviously there would still be use of fossil fuels, just less.
Also, though it's true Germany has nuclear resources, that's irrelevant, being as they are closing all of there nuclear power stations by around 2022, and will be using mainly renewable energy, mainly wind and solar.

The best system is still Technocracy.
People just need to understand we are not all equal. There are people fit to do certain jobs and people who are not, there are more and less intelligent people and so on. Why should all those people be treated in exactly the same way and get to make decisions they don't have the slightest clue about?

>>
>>546401063
>Also the fact that the arguments FOR the patent court is either "Danish ideas will become big and important just like America :3"

Ah I see they use that argument on you as well.
Thats a big one here in the UK, if we leave the EU we will lose our precious influence in the world.

I dont particularly want influence in the world.
That just ends up with us getting the blame for other peoples internal conflicts.
Everyone in Europe can be friends and trading partners together, but we dont need to be in a political / customs union together.
We dont need to start galavanting around the world poking our noses in to other peoples problems.

The EU is just a retirement home for politicians.
>>
>>546400248
If you think society isn't ruled by the elite anymore, you're retarded.

The only difference is that the elite used to care about the wealth of the country, if not the individual citizen. Now they care for neither, just themselves or propagating their retarded ideologies.

Seriously, my greatest gripes with modern politics is that they ignore the national interest, and that parties are involved in eternal slapfights with each other and would rather sabotage another party than do good governing.

I mean, hasn't a lefty UK politician come out saying that they pushed immigration because it pissed off the Tories? Yet you still get called a racist by these same people for opposing immigration.

Honestly, I'd like to see politicians like that shot. Shoot them all. I'd rather have some authorative regime that actually wants to make the country great, rather than these petty pieces of shit who reason solely from their retarded party line.

Yeah coal is much shitier, but noone intends to vote for that.

>>
>>546400929
We wouldn't be able to negotiate an advantageous deal with Nissan, because they are loyal to Europe, not just the UK. They are a Japanese company, the UK is not the only place in Europe where their cars are produced.
By being a part of the EU, we don't have to pay tariffs on imported goods, which we mainly get from members of the EU, the average tariff is about 20%, so that Nissan car you wanted to buy has just increased by 20%, so that £20,000 car has just increased by £4000, just as other products will do proportionately.

>>
>>546401208
I know that, but it still doesn't change a thing. You'll just rely on different countries, but still won't be independent. The only positive thing about this would be not relying on just one group of countries but two.
And I am quite aware of the decisions made here in Germany. They are still a bunch of bullshit started by the Green party and the SPD. Those guys are screaming "get out of this as soon as possible". It's also a fact that the German journalists are leaning strongly to the left, so they just repeat what those leftist parties are saying and people believe their shit. That's why you won't get a vote here if you tell the people nuclear power isn't actually that bad, so even CDU and CSU are now against it.
That's democracy for you. Wouldn't happen in a Technocracy.
>>
>>546401394
I agree that some people are born more equal than others in some circumstances, which is why I believe in meritocracy, however, this does not justify taking away the democratic right of people whom you don't see fit. Then we're just living in a selective democratic society, which can't really be called democracy.
My point on the NHS was referring to the fact that without the vote of the working classes, it may have taken far longer to get an NHS, as it was Attlee's 1945 - 51 government that introduced it in 1948 by Bevan, without the votes getting Attlee into government, this may not have happened. So, it is arguable that the working class can do just as much reforming good as the upper/middle classes

Well a lot of other countries do negotiate deals like that.
So I dont see why we couldn't?
Maybe we could set up deals like that with non EU countries that benefit us even more?

The UK is a huge market for cars dont forget.

If there were tariffs applied to car imports from the EU then people in Europe would buy less UK made cars and people in the UK would buy less European made ones.
The numbers would even out more or less.

The difference being people from the UK would end up owning more UK made cars like Landrover, Vauxhall BMW.
And less Euro built ones like Citreons or Alfa Romeos.
Also when you bear in mind that we as a country pay 55 million pounds per day to be in the EU for these deals they seem less and less advantageous.

Coal isn't banned though and they don't intend to ban it either. What does that tell you? There reasons are not "this is bad for the country/environment/etc.", the real reason behind banning it is "people think it's bad".
Right, Uranium is not that common. But we also have Plutonium, etc. And we do have enough of those for a while.
We already have nukes. That's way too late. Even without a nuclear power program, we'd still develop and produce nukes, if we want to.

Greenhouse gases: I still doubt that human CO2 production has a huge effect on the world. We are still in an Ice age anyway, so warming is to be expected. It's a quite ridiculous notion that the climate will suddenly not change anymore if it has done just that for millions and millions of years.

At great expense...

Only when the weather is suitable.
When its too windy, or not windy enough they buy nuclear generated energy from France.

I guess im the only one who thinks its a bit weird that Germany is closing down its nuclear power plants while its reliant on Frances nuclear industry.

As if having nuclear plants in the country next door is any safer.
>>
>>546402381
"In the first quarter of 2014, renewable energy sources met a record 27 percent of the country’s electricity demand, thanks to additional installations and favorable weather. "

Learn to read, fucktard. That's spending billions and billions on it, with good weather. There's no way they'll have enough renewable energy sources to cover even a majority of the demand. Solar doesn't work at night, and wind is pretty much worse than useless.

Who needs a justification? Those rights were given to the people, they can be taken away. As I was getting at before, we do not need to live in today's form of a democracy. The Greeks invented the system and they didn't give the vote to everyone. It was still a democracy. If anything, this would be more of a democracy than anything else, as this was the way it was invented. I still think a Technocracy would be the most advantageous.
Social security systems were first introduced in Germany by Otto von Bismarck. Back then we were still a kingdom. And why? In order to make the people think the state was looking after them, was to their benefit. Voting rights or not didn't matter, it was solely about not wanting them to riot. This was back in 1883.

>Everyone in Europe can be friends and trading partners together, but we dont need to be in a political / customs union together
I agree to an extreme extent, however not because influence is not a thing to proud of. I think it is, coming from me who's been born and lived in a country that's noteworthy for beer and plastic toys, and lived in another country noteworthy for its history of being colonial masters/the empire in which the sun never set.
But influence doesn't come from big bad boy EU taking your local brand of cheese and forcing everyone else to buy it as an ethnic good, it comes from earning that reputation. Now, and hopefully after the elections when the patent court has hopefully been thrashed to death, you have to fight against not only your internal market for your patent, but against the entire fucking globe. If you want to argue that the handy assbrush you designed is original, you need to fight for the rights to do so in countries where niglets have already copied it. That shit is good for competition, and good for consumers in the long run. If Satan reemerges from the IMF hell, and the court is approved, you'll just have to go to big bad boy EU and say "moma my lil idea is bwety gwood :33" and you'll get a little stamp of approval to shove in the niglets faces. It's disgusting.
Not only that, but then big bad boy EU can also show up on your porch and claim that your genes are patented by some faglord in Switzerland for marketing, or that your deliciously limestony water actually belongs to masterlorderhellerkiller down in the good ol' Germany.
Basically what I'm saying is that I'd much rather have the legitimacy of products determined by the efforts of its creator, and not by whether the disgusting blob of socialism in Bruxelles/Strasbourg/Luxembourg think its profitable or not.

Having nuclear plants in the country next door is actually even worse. If they were our own, we could invoke our own security standards. This way we have to rely on the French not to fuck it up.

You know why you should go vote, even if it's for a small party that would never make the cut?
If you don't, your vote doesn't count to the total number of votes, thus raising the percentage of the other parties. By voting for a party that won't make it, you can essentially block other parties from making the cut as well.

>>
>>546404352
What I was getting at:
Vote for a party that won't make the cut anyway. This way you get to lower the percentage the other parties received and you might run into some parties that won't make the cut because of it. This way if there is a small party you don't want in the EU parliament, you might get them to stay out.
If there is no such party you can just not go vote if you truly don't care either way.
But as the election will be valid, no matter how many people go, their legal legitimacy will not be changed. The factual democratic legitimacy might, but not the legal one.

P.S.: If an invalid ballot still counts towards the total number of votes in your country, go do that.
>>

>>
>>546404895

I see what you are saying.

But what if all of them are equally abysmal then there is no alternative option?
Thats what he seems to be suggesting.
If that is truly the situation, then what needs to happen is a piss poor voter turnout.
Legally it wouldnt weaken the position of the MEPs that were voted in.

But it would send a signal to everyone that the democratic process in that country is weak and close to broken.
That might bring about change. Either by true alternative parties emerging, or someone changing the system.
>>
>>546404869
God, I know some people pretty high up in the ranks of CDU. They are more intelligent and more decent people than the politicians they work for...
Still the party I'll vote for. Merkel is at least showing some strength and does not give in immediately.

>>546404948
Not even a more left or more right lean on your side? If so, not voting is the best to do in your position.
Over here in Germany it is pretty important to block some minor parties now that our constitutional court threw the threshold percentages to get into the EU parliament out the window. A few percent will get you in now.
>>
>>546404895
legal legitimacy will not be changed, right. But if one party win with like 10% of preferences...is a message for the politcians..."change your political program or disappear"

The parties with seat on the Parliament from left to right here: PCP (Communist party), BE (Left block), PS (Socialist Party), PSD (Social Democrats), CDS (Christian Democrats)

Party names and left/right association usually don't make much sense from country to country. Take the Democrat Party in the USA, for example. They call it is a leftist party, but in most countries with a real communist party they're actually center-right.
