Imanari roll into 50/50 guard then heel hook finish
>>
>>938242
The move on the bottom left is legit as hell. I used to teach TSD and taught it as a part of the grappling curriculum. It works great when combined with upkicks; the range the trip works best at is just outside of upkick range, so if you kick at a guy's head and he backs up, you can trip him onto his ass or at least make him stumble and give yourself time to stand up.

There's a few variations, like you can use the back of your heel for the ankle hook if your foot is on the wrong side, or you can trip the guy's far leg if he's close enough for that. It also works if you're posted on your elbow, so you can be halfway into a standup and still use it.

No idea why you don't see it in MMA. The only downside is that it leaves you slightly exposed to getting your guard passed if you miss the trip, but generally speaking the range is long enough that the top guy would really have to hustle to do that. I could never pull it off, usually just ended up catching a heel to the chest.

TSD is badass.

>No idea why you don't see it in MMA

I wouldn't have the balls to lay down on my back in MMA and give the other guy a chance to pounce on me, I'd have to be really confident with techniques like this and I'm not.

Here's some info for you.
>>
>>939093
I meant in the stalemate situation that comes up pretty often where one guy is on his back/butt and the other guy is standing. Bottom guy doesn't want to get hit as he's standing up, and top guy doesn't want to rush forward and get upkicked. That trip is perfect in that situation.

>No idea why you don't see it in MMA
except you do see it. gegard mousasi used it on sokodjou.

it just isnt that "big" of a technique, you need to get your opponent off guard and all you really accomplish is getting him to fall on his ass while youre on your back. usually it takes the guy on his back to get up longer so the strength of this technique is only in its surprise factor

I agree, I learned a better KMA version of this technique. You basically have to lean in and sit on the top of the guy's thigh for it to work, otherwise you just end up awkwardly putting a leg into your crotch and having the guy pummel the back and sides of your head.
>>
>>952247

Monk should have given the bracelet to an enemy, not destroyed it.

I don't think monks are the kinds of people to do that kind of thing.

Opinions on this block? Good coverage, or does it just obstruct the fuck out of your vision and leave you open downstairs?
>>
>>954076
Tried it myself, doesn't seem to actually obstruct the vision but it seems like everything useful about it is already provided by a muay thai high block, and nothing useful is added. Feels awkward as fuck. Why the fuck are you protecting your forehead? That's less vulnerable than your arm.

What about this thing?

IDK why you wouldn't just choke someone, but maybe it's more useful on da streetz?
>>

You know, on the streets, when you're choking a clever opponent from the rear like that, it likes like he could grab onto your ear, and rip it off.

Something tries to give you hug, but you are not in the mood. Flare your elbows out to to clearly send the message that you lack social skills. Next, reach down between your legs and grab his ankle. In a single pulling motion, kick yourself in the dick with his leg. Be sure to lift with your lower back and not your hips and legs.

No idea what it was called until now, although I think I've done it/ had it done to me.

You could show me a lot of judo throws and although I've done them, I don't know what the japanese names are. You have to remember I did KMA which steals a lot of techniques from JMA and doesn't give them credit.

>>955383
>>955413

No idea.
>>
>>955646
It's a relatively 'new' technique, 'invented' by Eddie Bravo.
