The important works that you need to see to understand the subject.
I've never watched wrestling before but I would really like to.
How should I go about getting into the genera?

Download Lucha Underground and start watching. It's all english commentary so don't worry about the mexican name. Look for the 720P torrent on kickass. It's huge but good.

NXT is a solid, easily-watchable show
Lucha Underground has its Season 2 premiere in a couple of weeks
