I would order stuff from Ivan, mainly some desert flecktarn, but I don't want a box sitting on my doorstep that says stuff like "ZIMMERNATOR 9000" or "Over 20 lbs of pussy and ass!"

How many of you milsim fags wear legit ballistic protection in-game? I've got my plate carrier loaded with soft ballistic panels and a couple of training plates because oorah.
>>
>>837843
I've heard of people putting actual ceramic or steel plates in their gear and I personally think it's kind of silly. I don't know but I see it as taking the milsim too seriously.
If I wanted the heft then I would get some training plates like you said, or get some of those cheap replica SAPIs and fill them to the brim with sand.
>>
>>837851
I could see using steel or composite plates, but if you play airshit with ceramic plates, you're gonna have a bad time--fuckers are expensive to replace and easy to fuck-up if you're worried about actual ballistic performance later on down the road.

>90% of catalog is nothing but wrestling
>All those niche or obscuring sporting stuffs get pushed off the board
What the fuck
Why

I've been gone way too fucking long.

Is buying graveyard guns and fixing them still a good savings? I remember last I was seriously into airsoft retailers were starting to catch on to that and broken guns were creeping up towards 20% discounts at best.

Yet somehow I doubt I could sell my crap for very much.

Do used TM's sell anymore?
I've been meaning to get rid of my old airsoft stuff but I've been out of it for so long. Yet TM was pretty much becoming obsolete last I remember.
>>
>>838378
It really depends on your area. If you plan to buy+repair+sell, I would advise against it.

If you want to buy cheap+repair+abuse, then do it
>>
>>838378
>Is buying graveyard guns and fixing them still a good savings
It's a gamble at best. If the gun is externally pristine, then yeah, internals TEND to be pretty solid, but external parts and proprietary elements might make boneyards impractical. For best results, keep your buys to easily repairable guns like AKs and M4s.

As for the TMs, depends on which ones.
>>
>>838352
I would wear a real PASGT too since the replicas always look so off. Although if I could find a good replica then I'd get that.

>>838378
Blame the fact that wrasslin was shitting up /sp/ so Moot2 pushed them over here.

>Is buying graveyard guns and fixing them still a good savings?
If you know that it's a simple fix, then yes. When I got my WE M14, I got it for $138 from AirsoftGI's boneyard simply because it had a dented flash hider.

>Do used TM's sell anymore?
Depends on the gun.
Older and rarer TMs like the SPAS, PSG-1, and p90s (just to name a few) still have some form of demand and have a slight premium over other guns thanks to their rarity or internal build quality.
A friend of mine has an early production TM XM177 and it shoots like it was brand new, even if it's over a decade old and running on stock parts. Only recently did it have the piston strip.

TM AUG
It was the only option back in the day, aside from Classic Army which I'd believe it if they're still complete crap for internals.
It's so worn now it would have made no difference to buy a JG in the first place.

The P90 I believe has alternative manufacturers, as does the FAMAS now. PSG-1 and Type 89 for the odd gearbox features I'd actually consider to have value.

What happened to the Both Elephant Type 89 clone? I was going to buy one before I quit, on par or better then the TM in all aspects. Seems they're out of manufacture now.

Also, is APS any good? Seems to be a new manufacturer actually doing their own thing.

KWA still king of the crop for out-of-the-box?

Anymore I think I might just retire to chairsofting, tuning clones for fun. Last big thing was the R-Hop I think they decided to call it "invented" by that one egomaniac from ASM.

Madbull still the best all-around value for tightbores?
>>
>>837816
>tfw ordered from ivan and didn't get any notes or anything :(
>>
>>838355
Hey are you the guy with the black eye?
>>
>>838417
There are a couple other companies that now make P90s (Classic Army, JG/Echo1, G&G, King Arms, and WE now even makes a gas one), but Marui still makes the best one.

>What happened to the Both Elephant Type 89 clone?
BE just kinda fell off the face of the earth, but I believe they're just another name for JG since the Type 89 is also sold under their name. Either way, good luck finding one new since I believe they're been out of production for a couple years.

>is APS any good
Ehhhh. They're okay.
Just stay away from the electric blowback guns.

>KWA still king of the crop for out-of-the-box?
They're still pretty good, but they're not then only one anymore.
There's G&P, Krytac, E&L, LCT, and a couple others to name a few.

R-Hops and flathops are still a pretty big thing and are great range boosts.

>Madbull still the best all-around value for tightbores?
There's RA-Tech and Angel Custom, which make their tightbores out of steel so no.

The TM AUG is still good, but it is difficult for it to maintain its value over other AUGs without the optic.

The TM P90s are the only P90s on the market that hold their value, and the only P90s with built in optics that are worth a damn. FAMAS is shit no matter who you buy from.

The Type 89 clones went exactly where they should have: out of production. TM 89s are still getting made and have a cult following though, because they're totally worth it.

APS has SOME good parts offerings (Silver Edge gearbox) and a half-decent polymer bullpup in the UAR, but everything else, don't bother. Their pistols blow up and their other AEGs just blow.

KWA is what it's always been out of the box: proprietary shit. Whatever edge in pricing they once have, they don't really have it anymore. If you mean higher-end M4s, Krytac are the new big boy in town. If you mean lower-end guns, CYMA AKs are still and remain the best bang for your buck period, even with reports of declining parts quality.

New hotness now are Tipman manufactured HPA M4s. There's talk they're working on an AK and MP5 too. There's also some mysterious magnetic system that some small company is supposedly coming out with, but there's sparse details there. Flathopping has mostly supplanted R-hopping for preferred modification, if only due to ease of installation.

Value for cost, madbull sort of is. They're really more middle of the road. There are other manufacturers that put out similar kit. I run a Lonex steel barrel and it's been great.

Honestly, if you're this far behind, you'd make an awful chairsofter. I'd recommend prettying up one of your guns and just go out and play.

Funny thing is, he's a ref there and all the witnesses were both drunk and his friends/sister so they would vouch for him. I don't want the cops involved because he's a minor. I'm never going back to that field again, place was garbage anyway. It was a lasertag arena that they let us use for airsoft on Saturdays. Only place to play without driving an hour and 30 minutes plus, and entry was only $8.

I have successfully fucked them out of playing anywhere else ever again. This happened the 10th and I've been emailing friends and making phone calls ever since. I've also heard that one of them had been brandishing a taser and acting like he was going to shock someone with it at the field, from more than one trusted source.

Ideal airsoft game?
>massive piece of wooded land with bodies of water for naval operations (ideally a wide river with several coves)
>hilly but not enough to be a pain in the ass to navigate or exhaust players too quickly
>some roads, open fields
>armored vehicles (tanks, APCs) having compressed nerf cannon duels from several hundred yards
>mounted patrols
>realistic MOUT facility
>semi-strict uniform requirements for each team
>third faction insurgents/guerrillas in civilian clothes that can actually roleplay
>admin/chain of command that can actually admin/chain of command
>planes doing simulated strafing/bombing runs
>blank fire
>3-4 days long
>tobacco/snack/toiletry vendors onsite in case people run out of stuff

Basically take Fulda Gap, Broken Home, and Milsim West, add them together, sprinkle in some East Wind (RIP), and there you have it.

DESU my ideal airsoft game is basically Battlefield Hardline.
>Cops vs Robbers

>Other side kebab with DPM, Jeans/hoodie, other civvie clothing, woolen balaclava, AK's, Galils, Bizons, non-american weapons.
>Urban sprawl complete with coffee plazas, shops, parking garage, tight office building.
>Proper radio usage, supplied by site
>Rescue the Hostage
>Steal da loot
>Blow up the Embassy
>Car chase?
>One whole day of 1 hour(ish) games
>Grenades fucking everywhere
>Costume competition for best loadout on each side.
>>
>>838933
don't know but I would really like to be part of a huge urban game. As in actual believable buildings with lots of people. Don't think I've seen that in any video so far.

Think about your average city basically. There. Squares, parks, alleys, apartments etc. That's where I'd want to try airsofting.
>>
>>838933

>>
>>838933

> if you die in the OP, you die for real.
>>
>>839091
But for real, an OP with actual air cav and motorized infantry. Something in the lines of a cross between the vietnam war and bush wars of africa. A main op with evolving side ops ie hostage rescue, kidnapping or assassinations and espionage.

Just so you know, I had the BE Type 89 and in no fucking ways is it better than the TM, just saying, those internals are a piece of crap including the hop up, it wouldn't even line up correctly with the feeding ramp.

http://www.military1st.co.uk/13462102-mil-tec-molle-carrier-vest-black.html

This is for a police-like loadout. One of them is pretty fucking pricey but its currently one of my favourites.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
>>

Now some are changing to modern plate carriers but as far as I know some important units still do that, tho it's more of a classic loadout.

LC-2/ALICE/M56 webgear. It works very well, it allows full range of motion, and it's breathable. I can wear a bulky winter coat under it if it's cold, and if it's hot it doesn't hold in heat like a plate carrier or some chest rigs.

A.
I can trap and hunt, I know what plants to avoid eating or touching. I know basic land nav and proper water purification procedures, as well as how to build a fire in adverse conditions and stay warm if a fire isn't an option.

What the hell is speedsoft?
>>
>>842286

Playing airsoft like speedball(paintball game variant), so high ROF guns and constant running. It negatively associated with assholes running around with BB-hose P*s and overshooting their targets.
>>
>>842286
Speedsoft/SpeedQB is the bastard child of paintball's speedball. It consists of highly tuned HPA guns, and lots of suicide rushes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QNg3G2ewAA

It's for those that either couldn't handle going against other speedballers in paintball, or couldn't afford to piss away so many painballs per game.

So what stops these people from strapping themselves with airshit grenades with all their pins connected to one string, sprinting into where a bunch of people are and screaming ALLAHU AKBHAR? Creativity?

I also have a BE Type 89, and after shimming, replacing the motor, hop rubber, and spring it's performed decently for the last 3 years. Though the 3 round burst gave up the ghost pretty early on (only fires full auto and semi). I managed to get hold of a complete TM hop unit, but haven't had to use it yet.

Is it the straight pull co2 version or the gbb one? Either way though, I wouldn't really bother.
You could get a Cyma SVD for around that (King Arms, Classic Army, and A&K also make AEG SVDs, but they're based off of the classic army SVD; unlike the cyma which is based off of the holy grail of airsoft SVDs, the Real Sword.), and it'd be electric. http://www.evike.com/products/39120/

Hell, you could get a WE SVD for a little under $40 more.

That shit is rough enough on your thumbs that people will buy things like .webm related for reals.

Now, I've only ever loaded .22LR single stack mags, but that shit isn't pleasant on your thumbs. Though rifle mags would be double-stack dual-column, so they'd be a fair bit easier to load, that's still 30 rounds.

Loading airsoft mags is a bit rough on your thumbs too, so I can see the motivation for a loading tool

Anyone know how to straighten a very slightly bent suppressor? Bought it second hand and was told it was still functional, but every 5th shot flies out at a 45 degree angle.

There are a few different types of traders.

-Pants on head retards. They break their already shitty guns/gear and desperately try to pawn it off on others. They then buy new and do it all over again. Probably the bulk of traders. You met this one.

-Collectors. They just enjoy owning lots of different shit but eventually get tired of having something around.

-Flippers. They think having a sale thread up for 3 years, spending a half day orchestrating the actual trade, in which they make $10 profit is somehow worth it. Generally ask for way too much money for not broken things.

-Quitters. They sell an absurd amount of shit for $200 OBO. Easily the best deals to be had, but you usually have to buy a heap of shit you don't really want to get that nicely priced G&P.

The pants on head retards are generally why, if I buy used, I lowball the fuck out of people. Unless I know they aren't already a POHRfag. EG: I got a sick deal on a KSC MP9, but the extra bolt he had was chewed to shit, the nozzle springs were fucked, and the piston head was ready to turn into dust. I anticipated things breaking based on the gun model and the guy being dumb, so I lowballed him, and for good reason.

I should have pushed him harder because it was way more trashed than he made it out to be. Functional but still trashed. I guess this is one of those lessons you just gotta learn. At least it was a sub $200 purchase which is relatively cheap for this money pit we call a hobby.

Impossible to find, best bet is Ebay. You have about 0.000001% chance to get one. Your best bet, look into converting the Evike one.
>>
>>844595
I feel a need to contribute to this "trader" thing. When It comes to second hand private sales, never let anyone blow smoke up your ass. Airsoft guns lose their value faster and harder than anything out there. Your Offer should be 50% or more(I go 75% off and work up) than the new price.

As a rule, airsoft guns are used hard and their build quality from the get go is not up to the rigor of fake combat. Any experienced gamer will bring 2 or more guns to any game due to the very likely chance it will break down. You have no idea what this seller has done to the weapon or the bullshit they might have wedged into their gearboxes, you almost just paying for the external parts.

Which brings up another point, if the seller has attached a great value to a weapon because of internal "upgrade" you need to ignore this "value". Internal parts are the cheapest and easiest to come by and switch out. Whatever money he wasted in upgrading the gun when he owned shouldn't mean shit to you.

The most money I would spend on a used gun is 200$, and I would have to really want it.

Anyone here have experience with cyma 1911 AEP? Been thinking about getting it as a cheap backup and for when shit gets to close range, since my main is M14(shit is long as fuck). My requirements are simple: AEP because fuck gas, 75m/s max, cheap. Any other recomendations?
>>
>>845259
Is that one of those double 1911s?

When are those even released? I'd love one.
>>
>>845549
AEPs are garbage, especially CYMA/WELL ones.
The battery capacity is small and they take ages to charge, batteries are proprietary to CYMA and Marui, internals are cheap and prone to breaking with little no replacement parts, weak battery combined with a weak motor results in poor trigger response and a low ROF, and the CYMA 1911 is bigger than a regular 1911 so you'll need to use a cheap cloth holster or get a kydex one custom made.

My advice? Just get a KJW 1911 and don't even bother with AEPs. Gas guns are stupid easy to maintain and have a plethora of parts compared to AEPs.

I saw it, it's fucking awesome.

As a general rule, which is more important, upgrading your gun or getting better gear?
>>
>>845880
Depends on the quality of your gun and gear, but usually upgrading your gun is more important. Take this from someone who started playing because it was a good excuse to use the gear I already had from being a gearqueer.

Merry Christmas everyone!
>>

It's actually more complicated than that, which is just so much worse because a lot of effort went into making that fucking monstrosity.

It literally would just have made more sense to make a kit that's a brace/frame fitting as grips for attaching two separate 1911 pistols together, which then comes with the slide and other parts for a left ejecting gun.

Would probably be way cheaper than this shit. Then when you're done with your stupid toy you have two perfectly fine pistols instead of a retarded one.

Anyway, I call bullshit, battery space is small, yes, but mod it to deans and use FCU batteries, it will fit. I ran 11.1v lipos on my Cyma G18 aep fine.

Great for super cold winter airsofters.

One of these days I'll convert my WELL MP7 to deans and utterly kill the gears.

If they're high quality then they're not terrible
Its just that heavier weight bbs generally are more consistent due to them not being influenced as much by air.
>>
>>846248
If he's getting shitty sporting good store ones yeah
The real issue with .12s, even the high quality ones made by reputable brands is that they're shit in terms of outdoor areas or any place with large amounts of air circulation.
>>
>>846245
Terrible. The turbulence caused by a butterfly could knock a .12 bb off course.
