Pretty pointless really since all of these are hard and fast but feel free to offer alternates if you must.
Or agree if you're feeling amicable.

Technical and storytelling should be put into one and it should be Shawn Michaels.

>Technical and storytelling should be put into one and it should be Shawn Michaels.
Bret Hart knew more holds, had better timing and literally carried fuck-awful wrestlers through classic matches.
When it comes to *technical*, I ask myself who had better matches with Curt Hennig and peak Steve Austin. Bret wins hands down.
Michaels was also superb at pacing and he also had the spots.
The two have to be separated just as one would separate Foley and Mondo.
>Draw is John Cena obviously.
Which is why they had to bring in retirees like H, Undertaker and Michaels to sell his wrestlemanias. I didn't like Austin at the time but he unequivocally sold.
>Mic is Steve Austin
Austin shone in antics and vignettes but one on one with Mean Gene, Jake was beyond gifted. Jake looked through the camera and into the viewer's soul. No doubt, Austin was incredibly skilled but once he got hot, he was a rabble rouser at best and that "What? What? What? bollocks was utterly cringeworthy. Jake made viewers very aware that he was on a different level to them and they couldn't look away for a second.
You can have a go at filling these in though.

Mic (Vignette) - Jake "The Snake" Roberts
Mic (In ring) - The Rock
Jake operated in an era where the in ring thing wasn't a staple. That way, they are not tested against each other.

>>836279
Nice list but i would say Bret was a better story teller than Shawn
Shawn's selling detracted from the match at hand and made you remember that you were watching fake fighting, this never ever happened with Bret. suspension of belief goes a long way with story telling in the ring imo. Plus Bret matches came up with better finishes which added to the story

>>843206
>Bret - Benoit is submission
It's Benoit. Not even a debate, he's hands-down the greatest technician ever and arguably the best pro wrestler ever.
>HBK - As mentioned, WMX, Badd Blood, Rick Flair
HBK was less of a story-teller and more of an overt, flashy showman. Granted that told a story but Bret's old-school style, DBry's versatility and Eddie's raw charisma told a much more engaging one.
>Jake - Not even a contest.
SCSA may have been a less eloquent speaker but he had THE best mixture of charisma and crowd-working. He understood precisely how to captivate, ebb and flow with them better than ANYONE and getting the crowd's rocking is the entire point.
>It was Mick, you dick. Just because you're hardcore as a pensioner, doesn't mean you're more hardcore than someone who's just a bit more hardcore than you but twenty years younger.
Mick may have been more hardcore but Terry Funk had a much, much greater impact on that sub-culture of wrestling.
>>843225
Sorry, was at shop.
>It's Benoit. Not even a debate, he's hands-down the greatest technician ever and arguably the best pro wrestler ever.
The way I see it, Benoit was brilliant with other brilliant wrestlers. Bret made brilliant matches from less gifted opponents. The initial case in point is that SCSA's two best matches were Survivor Series 96 and WM 13. The deciding case in point is that he miraculously managed to extract a legitimate classic match out of a bloated and gassed Bulldog.
He saw the man standing against him and knew EXACTLY what to do to get the best out of him regardless of how it made him look. Bret is locked into Technician.
>HBK was less of a story-teller and more of an overt, flashy showman. Granted that told a story but Bret's old-school style, DBry's versatility and Eddie's raw charisma told a much more engaging one.
This is highly subjective and those you mention have equally legitimate shouts to this title. Personally, I like showmanship and NOBODY was better than HBK.
>(SCSA) had THE best mixture of charisma and crowd-working
SCSA was a rabble rouser with catch-phrases. His act got very boring very quickly with a lot of the "patricians" of the time. Jake always brought something new to every promo and it always had the attention of the audience.
>Mick may have been more hardcore but Terry Funk had a much, much greater impact on that sub-culture of wrestling.
If we're talking sub-culture rather than pleb then it's Nick Mondo.

I'd switch look to ultimate warrior as rude looked a bit homo, and old school slag to sensational sherri as she was definitely more slag than elizabeth
>>847154
Warrior needed pomp, facepaint and ribbons to give his look the requisite "oomph". Rude needed little more than nudity and a moustache.
As for Sherri, she was tops. But as I explained to an IRL friend, the term "slag" is one used liberally to describe all pro wrestling entertainers of the female variety regardless of sluttiness... perceived or otherwise. After all, the sport has traditionally been the preserve of children and bitter adult males.
>>847157
I appreciate your input btw and I'm not dismissing your suggestions without thought.
Sherri had more charisma in one tit than Elizabeth had in her entire body. But Liz was in the right place with the right storylines and she sold her place as well as any slag could which is why she keeps her spot IMO.

Olympian.
Kurt is much more than an olympian to you and I but I'm sure that we'd recognise his superiors if we tried any other convoluted category. As such;-
Olympian - Kurt Angle*
But he gets a star/asterisk

Toss up between Angle and Benoit. I would lean towards Angle though.
>Ring Ability (Storytelling)
What do you mean here? Do you mean good ring psychology? I'm pretty sure that is what you meant. I think Haitch is pretty underrated here. Lately Undertaker seems to be damn good at it. Maybe he's just old though? This is a tough one desu. Cena is amongst the worst in this category.

Hulk Hogan, most wrestlers would even agree. He's the biggest name in wrestling period.

The Rock
>Hardcore
The Dudley Boyz (counting their ECW run)
>Hardcore Hipster Special
Daniel Bryan (his wrestling style is like crash and burn). Which is why he's been getting so injured lately (supposedly).

Lolwhat, thats random as fuck
Ultimate Warrior
Jericho Y2J
Triple H My Time
Off the top of my head all have far better all around entrances. if you are talking about music only then Ramon doesnt even scrape it

This. Their generation took it to another level past what Bret did. Technical wrestling so amazingly fluid and captivating it looks like a shoot.

It basically means "best in the ring". Technical wrestling is just one aspect, but being a great worker means putting on amazing entertaining matches, captivating a crowd and taking them through the highs and lows and being able to do it every damn night.
HHH was never more than a B+ at this shit. Very solid but doesn't deserve to be in the same breath as guys like HBK, Taker, Bryan etc.

Kurt was nowhere near Benoit or Bret's level in the ring, he did a lot of actions for no reason and his ring psychology wasnt top notch
Bret and Benoit were more fluid and every single movement was for a reason.
Also Angle and Benoit's chained repeating suplexes exposed the business hard, something Bret never did
Could Angle or Benoit have 5 star matches with Kevin Nash or X Pac, or a legit good match against a non wrestler like Will Sasso? I dont think so
Bret wins hands down

Switch Submission Specialist from Chris Benoit to Ken Shamrock. Shamrock was the scariest fuck in the Attitude era before he stopped caring. When he locked an ankle lock on, he was terrifying. I think he was the first true submission specialist in wrestling too.

>I think he was the first true submission specialist in wrestling too.
...in 1997? Seriously?
>>847465
Who else made people tap out before him? Tapping out was an MMA thing which came with that generation with Shamrock/Severn being at the top of that class. There were shitty verbal submissions before Shamrock. But Shamrock took it to another level appearing to rip peoples ankles off their legs while having a psychotic freakout.

I have to disagree; most well rounded doesnt imply that hes the best in every stat, so its natural for him to be beaten in individual stats and hence lose a fight to Mr. Severn. However, in regards to distribution of ability, I still contend that angle was the best. Sure he might not have been the BEST on the mic but he was definitely great. Same logic applies to almost every category on this list, and I would even go so far as to say hes top 10 in most categories. This combination of factors, in my opinion, puts angle in a strong spot for most well rounded. If you or anyone disagrees, might I hear your suggestion?
